Package Acceptance Pending ?

Ok, I ordered something last week and the estimated delivery day has now passed by.  The status has been:

Accepted
October 23, 2018 at 1:40 pm

Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending
--- End quote ---

This is since Tuesday.  I don't understand why there have been no updates since this.  Also, why is the 'Package acceptance pending' anyway?  I've never seen this message before. >> I will note that the package was sent vis UPS and has been transferred to the USPS.  Seems like maybe this transfer is not at all smooth.  :/ 

Anyone else dealt with this before?  I tried to email the USPS, but apparently the system is down.  And I didn't have time to call.  I did email UPS, but no reply just yet.

Thanks for any help.  I am hoping to get my package soon, but the total lack of updated status has me concerned.

Yes it means the package didn't get scanned in.

THey did this to me once and it was missing for a while and then popped up.  Don't worry about it.

Just an update:

Exactly one week after the last update my package did suddenly pop up for delivery and did arrive!

It's still weird, as the last location was only about an hour from where I live.  So I don't know why it sat there for a week, but I am glad it arrived!

I hate when they don't scan packages.  I mean it is nice that they prioritize getting the package to you, but a little reassurance goes a long way!
