Unfortunately I saw it being recommended as a stain removal method on a forum about Dollfie Dreams and other expensive anime dolls.
I could be wrong, but I thought some of the damage to ponies happened years after the application. So I think maybe it's too early to see the negative... maybe? The thing about this is that DDs are different plastics, so it might be ok for them. I do believe I did this with my own DD when I got her-- and that was years ago, and she's fine. http://www.dollfiedreams.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1887 <-- I mean that's a pretty good resource for DDs.
Acne cream is recommended for dolls such as american girl and others, but being that it discolors multi color ponies years after the fact, I would be concerned about it on MH being that they have colored vinyl.
I don't use acne cream, I brought this stain remover cream from retrodolls.uk it cost me £11 something. I'm going to try it on one of my pony baits. You have to leave it on for a week or more. It also works on dolls.
