Can scene-image be removed from "All-About" ponies?

Just curious if anyone has had any luck removing the big scene/mural pics off of the All-About ponies... If so, I may unbox mine just to clean them off.

I did get it off Big Mac, but it changed the surface of his plastic. It looks more matte, a little powdery-looking now...I just used acetone, q-tips and a lot of elbow grease, but it looks like I sanded the surface with a fine sandpaper :/ Maybe others have better luck with it, though?

The paint on top is normal, but there is a thicker, white layer underneath. Removal can be tricky and it may damage the plastic.

Walmart seems to be getting in more bagged ponies as well. I think I may have seen the mural-less ones in the bags.

The bagged ponies are the older G4 style though, from before the "G4.5" redesign that happened in 2016. The All About ponies are the new redesign styles.
