Strawberry Shortcake Minis brag
« on: August 15, 2018, 09:28:42 AM »
Hi,

I've got some new Strawberry Shortcake minis. Does anyone know a good way to clean these without ruining them?

I would let them soak for a bit in a bowl with warm soapy water, and then try wiping off any of the grime.

Those black dots on Sour Grapes are not going to come off though..

Thanks Galactica. :) If they still have scents will the soapy water make them unscented?  I haven’t smelled to see if they’re still scented.

I've always just cleaned mine by wiping them with water and a cloth, but then again those are from my childhood, so I know where they have been and what has been done with them, etc. The figures do have holes in the bottom of them so something to keep in mind. Generally, I have found that wiping them down and then having them out in the open tends to help with the sticky/oiliness if they have been boxed a long time.

Thanks toyjunky.  I used a damp cloth and cleaned them up. A few of them still seem to have thier scents. Sour Grapes still smells strongly but on some of the others I can only smell a little scent.

Nope, the plastic was infused with the scent to washing them actually helps :D

They are solid rubber so no worry of getting water inside

Congrats! I love SSC minis. I used to have an almost complete collection years ago and just started recollecting them last year.

Thank you Leave a Whisper and Icey. :) The minis are really cute.  I hope I’ll be able to add more to my collection.

These are adorable, I love strawberry shortcake even though I don’t have any myself.
If your worried about them losing their scents, i’ve heard sealing scented toys in ziploc bags for a bit can bring out the scent, but I can’t confirm since i’ve never had a change to try myself.

I think the scent was mixed in with the vinyl-

I have had had good luck washing them in warm water very well to remove all dust and particles- then you can still faintly smell them :D
