Fixing a Happy Tail pony?
« on: August 08, 2018, 07:50:56 AM »
I took a huge huge huge risk with Romper just now.
I have been a bit worried for her rust inside her but no idea how to remove the mechanism and couldn't find much guide.
So I asked dad if he had any rust remover I could smudge on the two metal plates on the mechanism to atleast ease the rust.
He took my pony and sprayed her inside with a rust remover
(while I was sweating like it was 35C again)

And omg look at the before and after I cleaned up around the mechanism.

Some rust flake fell off when I took the picture. I have no idea how this will effect a white pony. And so far I haven't noticed any misscoloring outside on Romper.
I will report if I notice anything.

Edit 01
I noticed some of the metal were missing while cleaning some more, not enough to loosen it, asked dad and he said its cause of the rust have been there too long.

Also the metal parts is less rusty now. Cant belive this worked. Now I guess I have to figure out of to clean her tail.

Does the mechanism still work? It's neat to see that it's just like a biiig clothespin.

I think you can take the mechanism out. Here is an old thread and here is a picture.

She looks better already though :)

It didn't work well when I got her, not much ahve changed either. I dont mind as she is more for show then play right now.

So there was a way :o
Might think of this at a later date I just wanted to halter the rust since it spread up in her mane.

Atleast you took out the tail haha.
I will save that when I feel brave enough to remove mine for a better clean up.
Btw did you remove the metal plate completly?(that metal plate looks longer then on mine)

I was cleaning two different Rompers. The first was so rusty that I just removed the metal. It pretty much disintegrated right off. She didn't work anyway.
The second is my childhood pony who DOES still work and was very clean inside, just tailless.

My creativity keeps running into a lack of time and resources.
I'm also available via twitter at @Kazzellin :)

So many projects!! What do I want to work on? :awake:
