Wow! I am impressed- it really is almost identical! They did such a great job-

The missing blanket is no big deal- I recall the material was that ultra cheap thin felt, I think a substitute could be made easily if it were wanted.

I guess they got lazy and decided nobody would notice if they made Twinkles a re-color of the re-issue Custard instead of using his own mold. Ah well, at least he's included I guess.

Thank you so much for this toyjunky!

Loved seeing the comparisons and can't wait to get mine, I preordered 2 and thinking of adding a 3rd (2 to display on different shelves and 1 to keep boxed). It's a timeless playset and they did a splendid job with the building's reproduction.

Peachy seems darker isn't she?

Wow, what a nice comparison! Alt. Twinkles aside, why did they feel the need to change the clovers art?

* gasp* Omg how did you ever find one! I love how similar they are! I wish the kitty were a little more accurate but they can be cute distant cousins :P Thank you so so much for taking pictures  <3 <3

I ordered it online at Target's website, searched for a local store that had it in stock and picked it up in store. The Pretty Parlor is listed at $19.99 plus tax. From the website you can search to find a local store that has it in stock. I did notice that the few stores that had it listed in stock only had ONE. Not sure if that is because it is so early or if they will only get in limited amounts.

Thank you! ❤ I found it on Targets website and bought one! :D Although for some reason it was so hard to find on my laptop, all I had to type in on my phone was " retro my little pony" and the pretty parlor came right up but on my laptop it wouldnt. You have to actually type in My little pony pretty parlor playset for it to even register as being on the website I dont know why. So for anyone else having trouble finding it on targets website try typing the whole name in. :3

I never had Peachy since mine was the mail order version without her. She is one of the reasons I bought the set. Ironically, I never had any of the original ponies whose name tags came with the pretty parlor. I had other G1's I used with it. When I was unboxing it yesterday I was impressed with the similarity of the two. They did a really good job in faithfully recreating all the subtle details. Some of which are not visible in the pictures such as the molded heart design on the stage.

In regards to the Target website, I found it just by searching with the words "pretty parlor".

I'm disappointed they didn't address the weak door hinge problem.  The G2 reissue that used the PP base managed to put a more durable door on it, why couldn't they have done the same here? :c

The screws on the inside are ugly and no painted details on the hat?  On the plus side Twinkles is cute.
It's a pass from me though.

Thanks for the comparison! It looks great, and so does the new cat - she's got more character to her.

Now on to a reissue of the baby buggy *hope hope*

Wow, thanks for the photos! It looks great!! Kinda a shame about the unpainted flowers on the hat, but w/e that's easily fixable, I guess. Also omg Twinkles is so CUTE!! I need her!!! She looks very different (so they just straight-up reused the SSC mold? Lazy :P but I can't really blame them, tbh), but I really like this new one so I'm not bothered ^_^ Plus it'll be easy to tell the two apart, that's always nice.

I really wish they had included the name cards for the other ponies too.   Especially, because they just made all of them...  Also, don't mind that they used Custard's mold, but wish they would've added her stripes.  Otherwise,  I like it.  I hope it is not as fragile as the original though given the fact that it broke so easily.

I think it would have been cool if they'd included a name card with each individual pony.  Like, if you bought Parasol then she would have a little "Parasol" card in her box.  Well . . . maybe I'll make my own. ;)

Awesome comparison, thanks!

I plan on getting the playset, but I never saw the original one, being born too late and not collecting G1s til recently. The new anniversary set looks really nice!

It's just a little disappointing to see the updated cat look so different and... dare I say more cheaply made? I'll have to see for myself. I'm excited though!
