25th versus 35th anniversary comparison pics?
« on: July 29, 2018, 11:26:00 AM »
Heyy  ^.^
I do not yet own a 35th anniversary G1 remake pony, I do have a 25th anniversary one. I would love to see comparison pics of the two!

I took this one of my Blossoms awhile back. They do look darker in the picture than they actually are, though.

I do know one thing...the 25th anniversary ones have much smaller eyes than any other release for some reason.

They're leagues better, honestly. The 25th anni ones are awful, super tippy, really hard, Cotton Candy's hair color is... bad. The Bridge Direct did much better with the 35th anni ponies than Hasbro themselves did with the 25th anni ones.

They are much nicer than the 25th anniversary ones. The 25th anniversary ones had a bad case of lizard eye.  :P  And I was never able to even find the 25th anniversary rainbow ponies.

Yeah, the 35ths are so much better. They are in the concave foot pose unlike the 25ths which make them much more stable and they have more accurate colors so they display better. And they don't have lizard eyes! Much better and more true to the originals. They come with a nice poster that has original G1 artwork along with a brush, ribbon, and comb. Plus you can actually find them in stores ;)

Yes.  They're far superior, and far closer in scope to the original series.  The 25th anniversary ones are just off.  I saw them in stores when they came out and was too creeped out by them to buy them...and that's at the time when my collection was at its largest.

A friend and MLP detractor once said to me that he disliked MLP because they almost had facing-forward "predator" eyes, and that weirded him out on horses.  I never really agreed until I saw the 25th anniversary releases.

Also, the packaging is far superior in the 35th-anniversary ones. Singe packed nice display window for those MIB folks. You get a brush/comb and sticker plus a poster. The 25th anniv ones didn't say"look at me", they frankly looked uncomfortable. Also, removing them from said box was a pain, it destroyed the whole thing. Or at least I did, one's mileage may have varied on that point.

Wow, I didn't realize how much shorter the 25th anniversary ones were!  Great comparison pic.

Yeah, the single packaging / box style is really nice.  I took Parasol out to show my friend, then popped her in again . . . she still looks great.

I think that might just be an awkward angle. Blossom was pushed forward a little more so Butterscotch wouldn't fall. She's a little tippy. They're pretty much the same size.

There is definitely a difference in size between the 25th and 35th ponies, the 25th ones are based on the flat foots while the 35th is on the concave, and there's a clear size difference between those as well.

Here are some height comparison photos:

Concave/35th ponies are quite noticeably taller than the flat/25th ponies.

The height makes sense based on the changes to the mold, and wow all those blossoms all look great together!
