What do you call this, double stamped symbol or something?
« on: July 06, 2018, 01:26:31 PM »
I have a pony Seashell, that I think has a double stamped symbol on one side?

https://photos.app.goo.gl/QdCYjCJhNPdi1L8f8

On the other side the symbol is normal. What do you call this?
thanks ^^

Oh thats neat! My childhood Barnacle didn't get a symbol stamped on one side of him but that was very different than getting stamped twice!

Looks like a QC fail in the Italy MLP factory :) Very awesome. It looks a lot like seaweed instead of shells!

Haha, twice as awesome seashell sounds awesome xD I'm gonna go with that.

Do all G1s have stamps on both sides?

What's a QC fail? o.o

I love Seashell! Her symbol is a factory error.

QC fail = Quality Control fail.

Italy ponies were hand finished, it looks like your Seashell was double stamped by mistake. It is quite common for Italy ponies to have misprinted symbols as they were hand stamped, but I don’t think I’ve seen a pony like this before.

Yes, all G1 (generation 1) ponies have symbols on both sides (there are a few exceptions though)

Aw man! This is so cool! I like factory flaw ponies that slipped by quality control. They’re so unique. And yeah, almost all g1 ponies have both sides. I think it’s quite nice, and kinda a shame they don’t do it in the newer toys. One cutie mark, while it’s easier for my simple self to figure out the display side, is kinda strange to me.
This. Sentence. Is. False! Dontthinkaboutitdontthinkaboutit.

Right? xD unique factory flawed ponies are awesome. I've never thought about it until now...
I also think its a lot better if they have two... and its a real shame that the new ones are all so small... its like the ponies get smaller with each generation. Thats why I prefer the G1s. I got one G4 as a freebie when i bought a larger lot a few weeks ago and its so tiny o.o its this small, pitiful creature of darkness... i feel so bad for it

Sadly factory errors are more common than they should be. I do enjoy them.
I have at least 4  with factory errors - probably more, but I'm quite out of touch with my collection, deciding what to do with it. I really don't want to sell, but I'm rapidly losing interest. I've invested too much $$$ and time into my collection I know I can't part with it.

Don't sell your collection... Mine was also sitting there for over 20 years without interest, but suddenly I got into it and now I'm really glad I kept them. Just leave them alone for a while and see what happens xD Otherwise you might really regret it later on...

Maybe I should keep my eyes open for factory errors... I really like them x3

Yes, errors are fun and prototypes are expensive!
