I went to a different Walmart store than I usually go to and was surprised to find hairbow/headband and ribbon hair ponies alongside the All Abouts. :what:

Ya that would explain it.  Some regional manager must've overstocked that Wave.
I only saw AJ ribbon hair around here.  Maybe Pursey Pink - I have her but I can't remember where I got her. LOL?

Yeah, if the store bought "too much" of a previous wave then they aren't going to buy any more until they come close to running out.  Which is why 2nd waves or "last waves" of toys (for anything, not just MLP) tend to be harder to find than 1st waves.

Back in the G3 days I had a nice chat with a store manager about MLP. He showed me catalogs of future pony products, I could point out what I would be interested in, and he would confirm whether his store would carry it or not, and why: he explained how Hasbro demands orders to be of a minimum amount when a store was interested to carry/continue any of their products, even if previous sales would prove that they would most definitely be stuck with overstock. It was either that, or no new addition to the pony section at all. I'm sure it's a common practice? Someone in the industry enlighten us please.

Thanks everyone. I’ve noticed the Big Lots in my area usually have some ribbon hair poines along with the pearly ponies. It makes sense that if there are still a lot of ponies from previous waves on the shelves, stores aren’t focusing on ordering more from the later waves.  Still no sign of All About Tempest in my area.

This sounds like what happens here too. We recently started seeing a lot of ribbon ponies here, and wave 1 pearlies are still on shelves in Entertainer back home (Coloratura included, now. I guess the whole of the area now has her, as nobody is buying her up any more xD). I think stock gets shifted around, but I wonder how much of this (in the US case and maybe the UK) has maybe come from TRU warehouses?

I know here that other toy retailers like Smyths and Entertainer were interested in TRU left over stock and some must have also gone back to manufacturers? So this may be why old stuff is coming out now in these areas. And it may mean something older that's become harder to find might appear as well - Entertainer back home hoardes old stock until Christmas (they had singing Adagio for 2 years after she was no longer on sale) and the London TRU used to pull out all kinds of old Monster high dolls around Christmas time, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

I've been seeing her pop up at Kohls along with Songbird Serenade.

Thanks Duenia.  :) Khol’s is one of the few places I haven’t checked. Maybe I’ll find her there.

Entertainer back home hoardes old stock until Christmas (they had singing Adagio for 2 years after she was no longer on sale)

So THAT'S where all the Adagios went! XP I've only ever seen two in the wild.

I only ever saw her at Entertainer. And up till recently Entertainer still had the Friendship Games Shadowbolt dolls Lemon Zest and Sunny Flare as well...goodness knows what they're storing up for this Christmas ><

Can totally confirm. My workplace has a small toy section, and we do have ponies. No clue if they started ordering an extra wave because of me, because I always buy up all the ponies we have in stock right away that I don't have. Shelf is empty for a day or two. After that, we are fully stocked for...months. Kids in my area must not be into pony as much.
We still only have the Big Mac wave of the reboots and some pearly + hair bow ponies left. I thought we were done with the hair bows for a while, but I just noticed a box's worth more put out. Everyone must've ordered this wave, and then got stuck with the kids who don't want another normal Twilight or Pinkie.

I saw her at one TRU and.. I believe TK Maxx, it's been years so I might be misremembering. Pretty sure my Entertainer still has the Rollerskate dolls, too.

Neeeed those rollerskate dolls. I don't think we ever got them in the US?
