My Model Horse Herd (breyer but mostly AR)
« on: June 29, 2018, 11:00:55 AM »
So, as I keep promessing I would do it, here it is!

My "collection" are mostly Artist Resin, but I've got a few breyers too (they are more commons for obvious reasons).
As well, if I collect and keep it as an enjoyment, it's because... I shoot them in the wild! All my pictures are taken live.
This is truly my way of having fun when I go hike, and if you like my work, please go and support me on facebook!

Oh wow your photos are really stunning. Some of those models look real! Such talented artists. My favourite is the custom of your horse, it’s so well done. Out of curiosity, how much do the resin or painted stump tires cost? They looks so expertly done.

Edit: STUMP TIRES?! That should have said BREYERS  Thanks autocorrect!

These are just so gorgeous ColdRuru, thank you for sharing! The ponies themselves are beautiful but the photos make them look even better, you are very creative in that way.

Great thanks you to all of you  :lovey:
I always work really hard on my pictures, and loves to shares, because as I said "there's not reason to do pictures if no-one is here to watch them"
So really, I'm touched by your kind comments

No you wouldn't be

Out of curiosity, how much do the resin or painted stump tires cost? They looks so expertly done.

There's a LOT of factor involved in the price.
First, price of the "blank" hose, who can varies from $30 for most plastics to $1000+ for the most sough after resins. It really depends on your tastes.
Ten, price of the artist AND the color you choose.
You've got the low price artists who are mostly beginners, they usually ask from $50 to $150 for their paint. Then the average artists, who ask for $100 to $600 a paint. And the popular ones, with a LOT of asking, who ask between $300 to $1000+ for a paint.
Price is determined by the color you choose (the most difficult it is, the most pricey it gets) and the artist you choose. And it all depends on yours own tastes of course, but they all have their own quality... the best way to choose one is to define your own what you love.
I did paint a lot of thoses horses to sell, and used this money to build my own collection. I do not keep my own horses much because I'm mostly interrested in other artist work. But from my own studio you've got Pumpkin and Poltergeist here.
Also, most of my horses where painted by friends, so I get a discount or traded them.

Woah, I did not know they could cost 1k! That’s crazy. But I can see why with some of the detail and craftsmanship that’s gone into them. I feel like I need to research this art now, it’s so interesting!

It's crazy in a way, but when you thinks of the time spend to do the most realistic hair by hair, well, it's deserved for the artist.
But in the end, there's models for all the budget, so it's up to everyone to choose. (the same for the ponies in the end)
