Fantastic giant response Sunset!!

For an additional shop in the UK for South-west people..... Trago Mills has collectors ponies for £8.49 and the Pretty Parlour for £21.49. :)

Also I can now confirm that Toymaster has the yr 3 Rainbows in stock for £12.99. Tickle has now come home with me as my birthday present.

@Taffeta we posted at the same time. :p

Interesting. Toymaster have the 2nd set of rainbows too then? That's good news :) And it demonstrates my find in JL last week was not a fluke. Yay :D

Sunset, thank you for posting this info!

Today, my uncle was at work (at John Lewis) and rummaged in the stock room with other staff from the toy dept - alas, still no ponies in stock there :(
I'll just have to be patient!  :hope:

News from Finland! We got couple weeks ago year two earth ponies, but then..
does that mean we are going to skip collector ponies and year two pegasus/unicorn ponies? :<

Carolina - WOW yay for Finland!  :joy:
So pleased these ponies have made it there, hopefully a few may find their way to the uk

Taffeta - an insider, almost!
Spoiler

my uncle is semi-retired so only works 1 day a week (more for the social aspect rather than money) and is one of the longest serving "partners" in his area. He deals with customer collections (a nice, gentle job) but doesn't get to deal in-store so much, but he knows most of the staff so at least he can ask them, when he does his lunch-time wanderings, to keep an eye open for me (saves me £4 parking for every speculative trip I take into town).

sorry about the rant but damit, im really starting to feel like the jealous sibling  here,  its raining G1 ponies everywhere but the ass end of the world here. its either our distributor's saying nah they won't selling here in NZ or bridge direct/basic fun going they won't sell in NZ why bother. Grrrrrrr   :pout:
im happy for everyone but this is going to cost me loads in shipping to get all this g1 retro awesomeness going on right now. there was a lot of G4 stuff not making it here, now we are missing out on everything.
they have no idea how many G1 collectors are here in NZ and would pounce on them

Wow. Those Finnish prices.

There is a Swedish site selling Bow Tie's set in £ for 12.99 each somewhere.

@shabbychicdee - I think you guys just need to keep making a fuss. I think it also sucks that you've only had four - and that there are places even in Europe not getting them in stores either.

Of course other pony people will help you if you need us to, but yeah, you're right. It shouldn't be like that. These were thriving G1 markets so it doesn't make sense that there'd not be nostalgia there too.

Ditto with Canada. The list Sunset posted mentioned the suppliers but if people in Canada are being told by stores they're not picking them up, it's time to do the letter flooding email flooding thing. (to the stores more than Basic Fun).

I really wish the distribution was better everywhere.

The post Sunset shared didn’t mention a Canadian contact but did list the first set of Rainbow ponies at Toys R Us. And they’ve definitely been found there. Toys R Us also didn’t say they wouldn’t get more but that they didn’t know if more were coming. I do think Toys R Us is our best bet. Fellow Canadians want to join me in continuing to let Toys R Us know how much we want them!?

I think Indigo may be a lost cause. I had a lot of detailed discourse with them over the last year and it seemed they had great difficulty getting the ponies in stock. They kept planning release dates only to not be able to get the stock and pushing dates back. Then the ponies only showed up very briefly well after Toys R Us was regularly stocking them. I got the sense in the emails they were very frustrated trying to work with Basic Fun for the ponies.

Walmart and EB Games may also be options but tend to be pretty random with their toy stocking. I wonder if there’s a way to get in touch with Amazon Canada too and see if they can get them since Amazon in some other countries seem to have the ponies.

I’m hoping TRU gets them. The 19.99 price tag at EB and Chapters/indigo is just too much and they don’t ever go on sale. I was able to get them on sale for 7 bucks each at Toys R Us. I’d be happy to pay the 12.99 regular price too especially for the upcoming waves. I don’t know why Walmart and Amazon won’t carry them. Argh.

I was able to get Confetti and Tickles at a Target two cities over, so now I have the 4 that are out now for the 2nd set of rainbow ponies. Interestingly enough there was two Tickles on the shelf so maybe she is one of the ones that gets doubled up in the packing box since Starflower and Pinwheel are not out yet.

Went to John Lewis to get a quote for a new carpet, meanwhile I checked the toy dept.

I hadn't had a call to say they were in stock, but I thought I might as well check as I was already there...
NOTHING!  :enraged:

I then drove out of town to get further carpet quotes from other companies and Smyths was nearby so I popped in there and bought a 35th Minty

It was actually a belated birthday gift for my girl to add to her 35th Pretty Parlour set, but well, I considered it almost a frustrated protest purchase!
