Yeah, I think they just wanted a pastoral scene with the Rainbow ponies featured prominently to be honest.  And this brochure scene worked better than the art from the Year 2 Rainbow pony backcard because that backcard has a big patch of blank space in the middle (where the backcard story would be printed.)

They used the part from Parasol to Moonstone.  The only pony they couldn't fit in was Skydancer.  So I think the sea ponies being in the picture is just because . . . the Rainbow ponies happened to be in that part of the pic.

I mean, maybe they will make the sea ponies, but I don't think the picture is a secret clue or anything.

Thank you for posting that. I was just trying to figure out which G1 graphic they were using myself. Which leaflet was it? I would love a chance to get sea ponies all pretty and new, so we can hope. Here is an interesting thing about the retro box background though, they edited out Sunlight. She should have been in that green grass above the sea ponies. So why edit her out and leave in the waterfall and the sea ponies. They could easily have been removed. Of course, it makes a nice background by leaving them all in and vintage art is a nice feature.

Thanks for posting the original leaflet Lady Moondancer. I thought they might be using that art but since I haven't deboxed my Moonstone I couldn't be sure.  Why did the edit Sunlight out of the retro art in the box? Shouldn't she be included also?

Oh, interesting!  I didn't realize Sunlight was edited out.  I can't see the back art too clearly because I'm trying to look around a boxed pony, LOL.

The art was used a couple different times, but the one I'm most familiar with was the Year 2 US leaflet / "catalog" that would come packaged with ponies.

Besides the leaflet, part of it (from Moondancer to Sunbeam) was used as a fan club poster.

I've heard that the ribbons can stain the new retro ponies, or at least Starshine! Has anyone seen staining on any other retro? Should I debox my Minty or is it too late?

I wonder if they edited sunlight out because the 35th pack of 5? She was also "edited" from that pack and the longer art might not include her?

Single ponies temp out of stock & the 5 pack is open again avail for order w/ est shipment date of 1-2months.

I think that is the UK release. Thus far it seems to be only online here, via Amazon and the other store LM and others mentioned earlier in the thread. I suspect they would've been in TRU but right now we've no real clear indication of them definitely appearing in physical stores other than that one.

Either UK amazon sold out of ponies really fast or they didn't have enough in stock for the preorders...some of them are out of stock already.

Hmm.. just re watched the toy fair 2018 basic fun vid.  The 5 pack showcased the 5 rainbow ponies with 5 reg combs, 2 star combs & 5 single puffy stickers...  what happened to that???

I really don't like how there's only 1 star comb & 1 large puffy sticker in the 5 pack   and of course excluding 1 rainbow pony...

I did pre order but only by 1 day so my other minty is coming tomorrow
