TBF artificial blueberry is usually more chemical then fruity.
Oof, that's a good point. I was just hoping for more color-coordinated scents, I'm sure they tried their best.

OMG!

These are available at US Target right now?

I just used the brickseeker link (TY!) & it said instock

Also if they are not officially on shelves yet...  did you just ask an employee to pull them for you from the backroom???

I'm ready to run out tomorrow ^.^  I ordered via US  Amazon, but they only had 5 ponies, no Sunlight!

Yes, if you go in with the product number (and are very nice to the employees ;) ) they may pull them for you.

I think they are going on shelves on 7/29, based on the info typed on the box I got.

Here are some comparison pics of retros + originals.

Basic Fun Windy is the more purple one, on the left.  Also . . . she has a forelock!  All the retro ponies have forelocks, even the unicorns.  They have a little bit of product in them to make them stick together (easily brushed out).  The rest of their hair does not have product in it.

Basic Fun Parasol (with blue ribbon) and original Parasol.  Basic Fun Parasol is a bit paler than original.

It may look like Basic Fun Skydancer is huge, but the retros and originals are about the same size, it was just a weird camera angle.  If anything I think the originals are just a smidge bigger.  Anyway, Basic Fun Skydancer (left) is a more strong lemon yellow than paler original Skydancer.

Retro Skydancer has a less obvious "boot" on the front left leg (the raised leg) than original Skydancer.

Of course, all this does mean Basic Fun lied (again) because NONE of these ponies are on shelves in anywhere in Europe yet except occasionally in France...and we were meant to have them way back.

At least there is Amazon availability, but so much for us getting something first.

I am happy the US has them though. It would've sucked if that hadn't happened. I'm just fed up with BF lying to its international market.

I'm sure when they made that announcement they had every intention to follow through with it. They had no way to know a trade war was going to start.

They should answer their enquiries and tell people what is going on.

It doesn't change the fact they lied. No explanation, no apologies, no answers mean in my view no excuses.

Of course, we can get them on Amazon here, and the collector ponies are now on preorder here as well, albeit only 4 of them on amazon. But to get the Rainbows from Amazon means to pay above the retail price, which was already way above the US retail price at around $17 in £GBP. That;s because they are coming from the French distributor, so extra fees are being added on top of already hiked prices.

So I think there are some good grounds to be annoyed with them. They have been lying to us from the start about lots of things, or just not communicating with us when they're happily chatting away to US fans. It's just another extension of that.

The lack if affordable retro ponies outside the US will put a bitter taste in my mouth if/when I see them at Target. I want to get Skydancer and/or Starshine but it won't feel as fun.

Ugh, the only Target near me that has it in stock is King of Prussia...and that's not very near!
I do appreciate that they fixed the obvious hoof on the pegasi, that always bothered me somewhat. Forelock on unicorns is cute, too.
Sometimes I really wish Walmart had picked these up. They'd be more avaliable, and Walmart has somewhat more international availability than Target.

Awesome photos!

Yep, I'm frustrated too that it's all too quiet in the UK re: any info about when/if the ponies will be stocked in toy stores. *sigh*

Awesome!  I hope you get them!  Remember to take the product code along, they are not likely to be on the shelves yet. :)

OMG you got all the rainbows!  At the Seattle downtown Target ??

Where were they supposed to be stocked in the UK?

We never got the name of a store because it was down to the international distributor but both Smyths and Entertainer take other toys from the same manufacturing group, as do Tesco.

As for Walmart...I'm not sure. Something weird is happening here with Asda and Sainsburys. Asda is the UK branch of Walmart right now but it doesn't tend to carry the exclusives you guys have (eg Haven Bay). Tesco has Target exclusives (Argos used to but not now) so I have been keeping an eye on the big Tesco near where I currently (but not for much longer) live in London...no dice yet and now it's too hot to go searching...
