Interior grime and rust

I've recently come into possesions of some extremely well loved g3s. The insides are organge with rust and brown with dirt and its quite disgusting. I've removed heads and let them all soak in a hot oxiclean bath, rinsed them out, and scrubbed as well as I could with toothbrushes and q-tips, but I can't reach everywhere with this method and a lot of the ponies are still dirty inside. Any suggestions for cleaning these girls?
Most of them are too baity to be saved regardless of interior grime so I'm not terribly concerned with preserving symbols or hair.

I normally part fill them with disinfectant and a tiny amount of bleach, seal the tail hole with some tape and cover the neck hole with my hand and shake vigorously. After a while I tip it out and repeat a few times. On the last time, rather than tip it out, I scrub the inside with a toothbrush while the solution is still inside, and then tip them out and dry them off. The constant movement of the solution dislodges all the grimy particles that are hard to reach, and allows them to be scrubbed off easily

I use some steel balls from ball bearings, not too big, with two drops of dish soap and a tiny amount amount of warm water, plug the tail and head with my hands and I shake vigorously for some minutes, rinse and repeat. It does the work very well !
Note that your balls will be attracted to the magnet, you may need to plug that leg while you're removing rust from the other ones.
When it will be time for that leg though...Best of luck, but at least you got most or the dirt off !
Yeah, my technique works a bit less well with G3s But don't worry, it is possible to get the balls off the magnet if you slap the hoof strongly enough.

soak them in a jar of CLR for a few hours and scrub them again with dish soap!

i work baking soda down into the legs with my fingers and scrubs wherever I can get it and then add vinegar. Add vigerous shaking and it usually does the trick

I 2nd this!
I've used these small soft tip ones, they're about the width of a pony's leg, for many years now and it really works They have a metal handle, so they can be bent to get in the legs (whereas a plastic one might snap or just not get in there).
The steel ball method sounds intriguing though.Never even thought of that, very clever!
