I hate that sellers these days cancel auctions so easily for a higher bid. It's all greed and it means you can't guarantee you are going to get something until you actually get it. I swear, I never talk about wins anywhere until they're in my hands. I just don't want to jinx them. Also there are dishonest people who will try and make private offers and unfortunately some sellers are that dishonest they accept.

My pet peeves for sellers:

- Sellers who lie about having an auction item and use a stolen image. Still really angry about an incident in Feb around my birthday which involved this.

-Sellers who put MOC items in padded mailers or just plain mailers. Had 2 ponies fall off cards over the years because of this. One was Wind Whistler (movie star) , the other watercolor Misty. I got a partial refund on WW. Misty I didn't bother about as it was abck in the days of sending cash and shr only cost $15, but still...I was trying then to get the whole set MOC but I gave up after that. Still  missing her and Wavedancer :/

- Sellers who lie. I won a MIB Baby Tic Tac Toe (a childhood pony) in her UK box some years back...seller claimed they sent it, it never arrived. Seller went trhough all these excuses and stuff, wanted to only partially refund me in case it returned to them, said they were busy moving - at which point I said, no, full refund please. If it arrives I'll paypal you. Of course it didn't arrive. STILL looking for Baby Tic Tac Toe in her UK box :/

-Sellers who list ponies at high prices saying they are rare but can't be bothered to clean or ID them first.

-Sellers who list G3 and G4 ponies in the pre-1990 category. No I don't want to scroll through pages of blind bags thank you.

- Sellers who list non MLP in the MLP category.

-Sellers who insist on using GSP or are just plain rude to buyers from overseas, as though being overseas makes you a scammer.

I also had my seller in Denmark some months back who insisted on messing me around with the postage cost over and over because she underestimated it on the auction. It took a couple of weeks to resolve. Finally I got the pony, but that's a seller I won't deal with again. She made out it was my fault she undercharged, my fault she'd decided to ship it a different way without asking me if it was appropriate...and then kept me waiting on shipping it to check details rather than just shipping the item to me.

stinky ponies and haircuts are nothing, man.  ;)

Some "highlights" of the Bad Trader List:

- the MIB Italian Dream Castle Re Unicorno fiasco
- the time a scammer sent a printed-out picture of the pony rather than said actual pony
- the Sugarberry Photoshop movement
- the time a scammer sent a lot of ponies in the mail, maliciously covered in glue
- the scammer that got away with $1000's of dollars related to Muffin Pony sales...

Ohhhh it's only my second cup of coffee, I am sure I will think of others...

I’ve yet to have any problems with sellers, honestly these stories are so scary! I feel like I’ve been unrealistically lucky considering.

Honestly though I’m really hard to anger in situations involving sales. I understand that life can be busy and mistakes happen, really if you’re just honest with me I’ll probably be okay lol!

I feel like there are fantastical stories behind each of these points...

Yeah that was Roy wasn't it?

These do all have stories!

The Italian Dream Castle was advertised and sold as NRFB - you could not see the bonus pony without opening it.  naturally of course the seller had removed the pony and sold it separately.  only keen eyes, from collectors who had boxes on hand were able to say, "nope that is not factory seal" :(

The Sugarberry thing was a seller listing variant Sugarberries using images that had been edited in Photoshop.

The box of glue was a malicious act by Lexi (I think) because the auction sold for a lower price than had been expected.

Anybody else remember some Not Good Sales?

I believe it was Roy.

Also, we must not forget the Reverse Gusty fiasco with the girl who kept making her own reverse Gusty customs and trying to sell them for a mint on ebay. One of the main reasons I am always majorly suspicious of any 'new' RG turning up is because of the number of custom ones that got spewed into the ether back then.

Wrapping a pony in newspaper. During the overseas trip the ink had transferred onto the pony... Not just spots of ink, but actually readable text was on the pony's body! When I contacted the seller to complain, the only reply I got was that the pony was in perfect condition when it left her house. Nice

The Sugarberry thing was a seller listing variant Sugarberries using images that had been edited in Photoshop

Was there a second Sugarberry photoshop incident at some point because as I remember it, there wasn't any intention to sell or financially scam someone. It was just a prank that went on way too long.

Make arrangements to meet you somewhere to sell you a lot and never show up after you drive all day.

That was my day today.
