Visited Scotland
« on: May 24, 2018, 10:56:24 AM »
My Boyfriend suprised me with a trip to Scotland for my Birthday in May. I knew we were going somewhere but not where. I have a friend living in Aberdeen now and Ivé talked a lot about it so I´m very happy for the choice.

I´m still overwhelmed over all impressions and already long to get back. I love everything about Scotland, the history, the people, the nature, the music, the list can be long...

We visited Edinburgh and there was a girl holding an Owl outside a store. Isn´t she amazing?
I definitely prefer Owls in freedom but couldn´t resist to take a picture.

Scotland is a really beautiful country, especially the northern half. I've only been lucky enough to visit it twice (it's a long way from my part of the UK) - but when I stayed in Edinburgh I took a tour up to Sterling and into the bottom part of the highlands. I know it's even prettier further north.

By bus is a realllly long way to do it though! There are airports and trains!

I believe that, in terms of the geology, in ancient times the top half of scotland was attached to the land that is now Norway. Scotland is also the only place in the UK where there are still red squirrels in the wild...though I didn't see any when I was there :(

Thanks yes it was fun. We lived North of Perth in a cute Little Town called Pitlochry.

Yes I know there are trains and flights!
The only reason to go by bus is that you are able to see more.
I had no idea that half of Scotland belonged to the land that is now Norway.

Red Squirrels sounds interesting, Hope to see one someday!  :)
