First off, I hope I'm putting this in the right place (new to forums).

I loved MLP in the 80s so my collection was played with.  Now I am looking to free up some space and sell everything (nearly; I'm keeping the sentimental ones).

My question is should I sell this as one lot or break it up (if so, what do you recommend)?

Of course this will probably come down to how much time I have, but I need to start somewhere and am feeling overwhelmed.

Here is a list of what I have (all US ponies; I know condition on everything is important but haven't figured that out yet).

You will likely get more for your collection if you sell separately, rather than in a lot.  May be easier to sell more too since many collectors, like myself, are looking for specific ponies.

Sending you a PM!

I sell on ebay-- and usually my method is any pony worth $12+ I sell individually. Otherwise, I will bundle 3-5 ponies in a small lot (or whatever weighs under 1 lb for first class).

I feel like there is a balance between selling fast and making the most money. Sometimes it's not worth it to have a bunch of stuff sitting around.

I agree with Banditpony's suggestion; make sure you check eBay and Bluerose's price guide as you have a lot of sought after items!

Lots of pictures if you can manage it also help because some collectors are picky about certain features. You have some rare ones in there and also some not so rare so definitely get some advice on that as well. Pony prices fluctuate wildly depending on the market. I don't personally believe price guides work because ultimately your pony will sell for what someone is willing to pay for it at a time, and some people will pay twice what other people will for the same one.

I'd like to hope people here will be honest with you about value and rarity in a broad sense :)

But the condition of the ponies will impact the price. It sounds like you have some with some accessories as well which will also impact on price in a generally good direction :)

Finally, decide where you are willing to sell. This is important as the community is very global, and represents a lot of countries. If your intention is to be US only then it is good manners to say so from the start so you don;t get your time wasted and don't waste anyone else's time. If you're happy to ship internationally, same applies :)

Some of the ponies you have are difficult to get in some overseas places (eg several of them weren't sold here in the UK) so in some cases you might do better with international shipping on those items - but if this is not possible for you then please be up front about that :)

Good luck with your sales :)

Exactly the question I'm wrestling with!

I sell on ebay-- and usually my method is any pony worth $12+ I sell individually. Otherwise, I will bundle 3-5 ponies in a small lot (or whatever weighs under 1 lb for first class).
