Moondancer's glitter
« on: May 11, 2018, 11:27:08 PM »
Hi guys, I'm touching up a Moondancer with some pretty faded symbols. I was going to use some red Extreme Glitter paint from Folkart for her stars, but after taking a closer look, her glitter looks more like a dark pink. Is that its real color, or has it just faded over time? And if her stars are actually pink, what brand/color of glitter would be a match for them?

And while I'm at it, for colored glitter, is it better to mix some silver with it before painting it on, or should I paint a layer of silver on before using the colored glitter? I want the symbols to look as close to the originals as possible :P

I have no experience in faithful glitter symbol restoration, but I've stumbled across this video and Moondancer is in there so I hope that helps. =)

Try Folk art hologram glitter paint on top of whatever color you put the symbols.  It dries clear so you only need to buy 1 color of glitter.

I can't recommend a brand, but the stars are pink with some silver mixed in.

I have used nail art micro glitter to reglitter symbols :)
