Gen one puzzles

Does anyone know how many puzzles were made, and can we all show them off here. This is a recent find.

There are A LOT of different puzzles.  Dozens and dozens of different designs and styles, and different pictures from different countries.  Some with typical cardboard cutout pieces, some were done with plastic, some were 3D sculpture puzzles.  There's a set I'm particularly fond of which is done with cubes, where each side of the cube belongs to a different scene.

The following puzzle I love, not for its design but the story of how I found it.  I used to work at a Before and After School Care centre for primary aged children, and we used an old set of demountable classrooms which had some pretty old furniture leftover from the days when they were used for classes.  At the back of one of the rooms was a large wooden cupboard which had been locked for as long as anyone could remember.  One day we paid for a locksmith to open it up and I found a stash of old 80s and 90s games and puzzles which hadn't been touched in over a decade.  When I saw this MLP puzzle I quietly slipped away with it - I appreciated it much more than any of the kids would have!

I had a flutter pony one as a kid. There's also a few others I remember. One with paradise I think.

In the UK there's a bunch of images that were sold as framed images I believe? With pink borders mostly, in two sizes. I have one on my wall at home, and I think a lot of those images were also used for puzzles over here.

I had some other jigsaws but sold them. I don't really like them much and they take up space. I probably still have the flutter one somewhere as it was a gift but otherwise...?

I remember one with Applejack and a rodeo kind of image? I think it was AJ. I don't think that one was British but I definitely had it at one point.

There are lots and lots of these :)

Ponyfan took some cute photos with her baby sea ponies and a baby sea pony puzzle the other day too. So that's another.

I have this feeling I've also seen a sundae best one.

I’ve only got the one I found in rough shape when I was younger. All the pieces are there tho,and the puzzle pieces themselves are in good shape, better than I expected from a thrift shop haha!

@Kotton Kandy - interesting that Songster is illustrated without the prototype wings. She was always drawn with wings in the comic here, and the set came out here later, so I guess the artists for that puzzle had more accurate images to draw from.

Your post made me curious, so I scoured the box. It's got a teeny copyright date on it of 1989. That's pretty darn late in the G1 world, is it not?
I was always more mystified that they couldn't squeeze the last two of that set on there. Instead we have rando dancing ducklings?

Here's a pic of the sea pony puzzle Taffeta mentioned. I love that cube puzzle. I have one that is like that except it's Winnie the Pooh. I used to have the one with Bowtie, Peachy and Sprinkles playing in the clouds and the Rainbow Curl ponies one also.

I'm hoping to get some more G1 MLP puzzles someday. :)

Oh my! Einhornbaby, I didn’t know most of those existed! I’ll have to hunt them down. :D

I have quite a few of the US ones, and have pictures on my iPhone, but I don’t know how to upload them without a third party platform :( The flutter pony ones are apparently fairly rare; they seem to be the only ones with 200 pieces.
My creativity keeps running into a lack of time and resources.
I'm also available via twitter at @Kazzellin :)

So many projects!! What do I want to work on? :awake:

Also, 3-D, flat, frame tray, sliding, & block!! I really wish I had the space to put some out!  ^.^ I have never seen most of those UK ones. Adorable :whoa:

I had this puzzle too. I had other ones, but my memory has blurred together who was on what with whom. I remember some of the ponies featured: Forget-Me-Not, Posey, Dancing Butterflies, and Princess Tiffany (I think Dancing Butterflies and Princess Tiffany were on the same puzzle.) Then I think there was one with Bow Tie & Apple Jack.

I have never seen a lot of those puzzles Einhornbaby posted either, even though some of them must be European and even UK release (the one with dragons). I haven't ever really gone out to look for them, but that's an impressive collection :) The one with Snowflake I think is one of the framed images I mentioned?

The one I had as a kid isn't pictured but I don't think I have an image :/

@Kotton Kandy - over there, yeah, I guess so. Not so much here. But I guess maybe they used the box art from the ponies to draw from? I forgot but in the US I think these sets all had the ponies drawn on them, rather than photos like we had here...
