Requesting Advice on Cleaning a Sweetie Pup!
« on: March 19, 2018, 12:37:24 PM »
hello!

i recently acquired my first sweetie pup, the springer spaniel!

she doesnt seem to be in a super rough state, but i like to clean all my toys when i get them secondhand.

i'd assume cleaning them is similar to cleaning g1 ponies, since they were made around the same time by hasbro, but i wanted to ask just in case there are any big no-nos unique to sweetie pups!

i appreciate any help you can give!

Ahh sweetie pups! I helped a friend clean theirs recently, which was to just scrub and wash hair with warm gentle soap/conditioner. however his were all straight haired dogs and I feel like my method would turn the curls wavy x.x

Congrats on your first pup!

I've only just got some loose ones myself, but they were from a collector friend so I didn't need to clean them, so unfortunately I can't really give you much advice.
I guess to preserve the curls use cold water and gently tease out knots to prevent straightening with too much brushing? As if you were trying to preserve MLP original curls, if someone can give better advice on how to wash to save pony curls, apply that to the entire top coat of the pup?

Good luck!
