Wow! That’s beautiful! What a shame it wasn’t made! Thank you for sharing the link, I never would’ve found it otherwise lol

I can't believe I didn't see this before, ever. Also, what is interesting is that the ponies included with it have brushable tails.

I'm pretty sure that brushable tails were predominately a feature of petites with playsets in Europe? Certainly we only seem to have had the brushable tail versions here. If so, it means that we probably would have had it in the UK had it been released :( I wonder how successful the Petites were...given that there were meant to be more Dream beauties and ultimately weren't (I think that's right?) it may relate to the fact that by 1991 MLP was starting to tail off in the US...or maybe they just didn't make the cut. But that seems pretty close to production, if they're test-printing boxes.

So cute. And pegasus petites too. And pearly. Sigh.

Thank you for sharing it :D We've discovered so many things over the years that Hasbro thought about but didn't produce.

I would have loved the Wedding Gazebo if it would have made to the stores.

I've also wondered how successful Petite Ponies were as they didn't seem to be in production for very long and even now it's hard to find the glowing magic and twinkle petites and the houses and shops don't seem to come up often.

I think in the US petite ponies with playsets usually had molded tails. I know my Flurry did but I have a brushable tail Flitter I bought from a US seller.

I think petite ponies were often lost or thrown away also due to their small size. I know that I lost two of mine at some point but have been able to replace one.

I think the brushable tail / molded tail was related to timing.  Hasbro started the Petites with all molded tails (including the multi-pony packs) and then I guess decided brushable tails were better. If Europe was getting the Petite playsets a bit later than the US (which seems to have been what usually happened?) then they would get more brushable tails as Hasbro used up the molded tail playset ponies and switched to brushables. Also the brushable playset ponies are rarer in the US, I've heard of them being found here.

The petite castle playset only has brushable versions, no one's found any molded tail ones, which IMO means it entered into production after Hasbro had fully "switched" to brushable tails.

Hrm. I don't know. It's possible. We had all the moulded tails though in other sets, just not in playsets I don't think? The comic advert shows moulded tails and brushable tails only for the ponytail petites...but I think it also shows moulded tails for the castle 2. However the ad says that the petites all have soft brushable tails so that was a sale pitch from the start. That ad is from 1990 and they're also in the trade catalogue for 1990 (hasbro UK) which I think is the same time context as the USA?

I can only think that European Hasbro branches were more keen on the idea of brushable tails to begin with than the US. Ponytail Petites suggest this was meant to be a gimmick just for their line, but it was used for some of the other later sets that Ponyfan mentioned as being rarer...

I don't know if we had all those later sets in the UK, but we did tend to have both US packaging and European packaging here...yet I don't think we ever had moulded tail ponies. I remember this because I always wanted the rearing up Topper (I think that's her name?) and she ended up a pegasus with brushable tail and I was confused O.o.

I think this was MLP trying to be Polly Pocket :/ I wonder if they just made too many sets at once, and that's why the Gazebo got scrapped. They already had so much to sell that it didn't seem practical to add another. It's a shame though. I would have liked that more than some of the more generic houses. I love the carousel and my childhood castle but the other properties I kind of get mixed up.

I would have liked that pearly petite though. A brushable pearly petite would have been lovely, as the others are all moulded tails.

Definitely a Polly Pocket rip off!   Although I always found Polly's fold-up playsets to be half the fun, and unfortunately they didn't really imitate that part with the Petite ponies.

I too like the castle and the carousel best . . . The shops / homes aren't as exciting.

The prototype of this set sold on ebay recently for $450 on a BIN.  The ended auction isn't visible anymore though.  I would love to have snagged it. :(

oh I saw this on Ebay too!   It was after the auction ended though.  I love petite ponies and this is so cute would have loved to see it actually made.
