When I saw this year's lineup of brushables, I was pretty disappointed and vowed to focus more on expanding my G1 collection until something that caught my eye popped up. I only decided to grab Celestia on a whim because my mother was offering to buy me a pony.

loginI'm in LOVE with her wings. The gold glitters look so pretty in the sun, and they make her wings look like a pastel party! The hair is much nicer quality than I'm used to for the reboots, as well. It seems like when they stop putting the hair in the weird two pieces of plastic that are sewn together (do they have a name?) the hair is much softer and less oily or chunky. It's not perfect and not as good as the Celestia I got in the Seaquestria Castle, but I'm very relieved! Maybe I'll even try to give her a cute hairstyle.

loginSo the main gimmick of this set is the shiny symbols on the pony's legs. They look like they're made out of some sort of foil that is wrapped around the leg clumps. She looks silly from the front because they mashed her legs together to save on the wrapping, and each pony is made of, like, two layers of plastic? From this side this is much less noticeable, but up front you can see how they were made.
So...she isn't in the Celestia mold. I compared her to other Celestias released recently.

loginHere she is compared to Seaquestria bonus Celestia. This Celestia shares the same mold as the others released. Glitter Celebrationlestia is short! She shares the same mold as Cadance from this set, so I guess Hasbro would have preferred to make Celestia shorter than to make Cadance taller.

loginShe's still slightly smaller than the snowglobelestia, too. Her wings are bigger, though! It's neat to see how the molds changed between the reboot and the originals.
I can't wait until Summer is in full swing so I can take wonderful pastel pictures with this release! I think I'll be picking up Cadance and the second wave when that reaches my Target.
