Cosmos (g4 custom)

Hey everyone,
Just sharing a new-old custom (I finished her sometime last year) who I've just put on ebay. She's my first (and possibly last as I think I'm seriously considering giving up customizing) non-brushable, made from one of the colour-in ponies (Fluttershy)

I enjoyed customizing her - it made a nice change from rehairing.

Lovely work! I love space ponies and the rich blues you chose. Hope to see more ponies from you if you choose to stick with customizing.

I have a soft spot for space themed ponies. She absolutely wonderful! And nice name. Cosmos. Fun fact: tempest shadow was originally going to be a stallion named cosmos, who was supposed to be celestia and Luna’s brother. I’m kinda glad they got rid of that script...
      Her cutie mark kinda reminds me of this old wall painting in the space exhibit at my local science centre.
     If you give up customizing, can we still ask you for solid advice on the subject? You could be like the little customizing wizard on the mountain who offers sage wisdom!

Aaaah, she's so beautiful! All your customs are so well done and I love your space-themed ones in particular. I (selfishly) hope you don't stop but if you're not enjoying it anymore then  it makes sense.

  As honoured as I am by the thought there really isn't any advice that I'd be qualified to give! I've been customizing since my early teens and I still haven't got anything on the other customizers on here. I'm no artist - I just enjoy pretending

It's nothing to do with not enjoying it. I actually can't imagine not customizing, it's something I've been doing for so long. It's purely because of a recent experience - For the first time after years of doing this I lost two customs in the post and aside from the obvious sadness of knowing your work has gone missing it's left me over £40 out of pocket at a time that I really can't afford it. Royal Mail still haven't told me whether or not they'll compensate me and I've temporarily had to take the money from my rabbit's veterinary account as it's the only money I have (it was many weeks after the sale before I was contacted to say they hadn't arrived)

It's a complicated situation.. I'm just not sure what to do. I've never customized for profit (a lot of the time I've actually lost money by the time I've finished a pony anyway ) but when my hobby starts cutting into money that was meant for vets fees for my rabbits I have to seriously question it as my rabbits will always come first and I don't want to put them in danger just because I enjoy my hobby.
I honestly don't know what to do at the moment. I still have a lot of half-finished customs which I want to finish first. I'll see how they go and take it from there. I really don't want to give it up but I'll have to see how things go. We'll be moving in a few weeks, maybe things will feel different then. I don't know.

I'm probably overreacting. To be honest I probably haven't done badly by losing only two ponies in all this time. I've been sending ponies all over the world for years, it was bound to happen eventually.

Oh that's such a shame! I have had a few things go missing in the post before and some of them were rare/valuable enough that I was in an absolute state (one was all my wedding albums!). Fortunately they did turn up eventually both times but as you say, it's not nice to *lose* money on something you worked so hard on.

Heya, just wanted to let you know she has arrived safe and sound, and little Astra too! THEY'RE SO PRETTTTYYYYYYY! *flail* Thank you so much for the extra gift, it was no problem at all to wait an extra day or two.  I hope your bunny is feeling better.

I really hope you're pleased with her  I felt so awful for the delay so I thought I'd include Astra. Glad you found her, I was worried she might get lost in the packaging 
Honey (my bunny) is doing really well now - thank you  Took a few days, she was quite ill and seemed to be in a lot of pain but suddenly bounced back to herself yesterday and is back to causing trouble 

Oh wow, I thought it was bad to lose the ponies but to lose your wedding albums..! I'm so glad they turned up in the end!!
It doesn't even come close to what went missing for you but I think it did get me in a bit of a state having both ponies go missing. I probably did overreact a bit and knowing Cosmos arrived safely has made me feel a little more positive. I don't really want to give up customizing... To be honest I'm not sure if I can. I've had a few new ideas over the past few days. I'm not sure I can give up on them now.. Not while I've still got ideas 
Agh, let's see what happens once we've moved house and settled. It's been part of my life for so long I know how to stop completely
