Nirvana fakies ?
« on: February 21, 2018, 07:26:48 PM »
Can certain  fakies be classified  as Nivanas ?

Im not talking about the Mexican big  brother fakies all though technically they count.

For this I am more talking about the super strange rare fakies from  Spain , Greece and Mexico .

Takaras have their own classification so those don't count here.

What do you all think ?

I think this is a question best asked on the nirvana boars, instead of the main. ^^;
My creativity keeps running into a lack of time and resources.
I'm also available via twitter at @Kazzellin :)

So many projects!! What do I want to work on? :awake:

Speaking as one of the nirvana mods, there are fakies of nirvana ponies (Takaras), but no fakies are actually classed as nirvana :) I can't speak for the fakie collecting community though, they may well have their own version of nirvana :bigups:

There are always grey areas though and we don't know what will be proven or disproven in the future.

The squeaky butt Venezuelan ponies are one such grey area. LadyG believe these may well as been produced after the licence the factory has with Hasbro expired, which would make them technically a Hasbro fakie.

Interestingly some nirvanas (the Spain piggy ponies) were considered of as fakies for a LONG time until one found MOC.

I believe these would be considered Nirvana: this round of Lanard ponies were produced with a different look for the Danish market! More of a Nirvana Fakie than a fake Nirvana, but I thought it was worth mentioning anyway!

oh that's cool.

Just ordered some vintage lanards, thought I just needed some babies and the rest of the flocked guys and I was done, but looks like I was wrong! Danish Party Ponies just made it to my wish list!!

While there are some that are pretty hard to find, but I can't think of any others in particular that were region exclusive. Most of our fakies were available across different parts of Europe as well.

In the My Little Phony facebook group we are looking for a name for these "nirvana" fakies, because the are indeed harder to find and exclusive to one country, and have a higher price too. Terms like "Fakevana", "Nirvake", "Fools Gold" and such, are suggestions that are popping around ^^

Oh wow, those Party Ponies are awesome! If I were actively collecting Fakies I'd be putting them at the top of my want list too.

@ Stormness - I would love to see your Lanard Collection, it probably puts mine to shame!

wow that baby is awesome, would love to get my hands on that. i had a baby blossom pose fakie i thought was a greek but its eyes were a little of, it was a little smaller and she turned out to be a paint-your-own fakie. wish i had kept her.
