Well, hello there. Today I got my 150th pony, hooray !  :newpony:

And that's the first Drink'n'Wet pony : Baby Cuddles. Well, I have a mixed feeling with this collection but I still find them adorable, I might be one of the the least picky collectors out here. As I had guessed, the main issue with those cuties is the tail rusting because of the water even though there's a pipe, but that's no big deal for me now.
Since I'm nuts with documentation regarding my collection, I think it might be helpful to tell you how I cleaned that pipe, for some archival reason or something. I'd be really glad to see you include my texts and pictures to your blog or website under the sole condition to mention my username but seriously, I trust you on that. =)

You can find it right here : https://imgur.com/a/vxthF

:rainbow: Reassemble the pony :rainbow:

Good news everyone ! It's really easy to reassemble the pony ! I got it with only 2 attempts and no glue.

I first put the tail back into the body. Look to see if the tube socket isn't a bit squashed by your new washer or what. Simply use your finger to clear the space inside.

I then stick the tube in the mouth socket, then put the other end on the bum socket by approaching the head. Now you just need to rotate slowly the head plug into the body. Don't do full rotations but go back and forth and push well. Don't forget to keep an eye on the tube to see if it's still well placed on each side. The vinyl is soft on this one, you can heat it up a little more with a hairdryer to ease your task.

And there you have your pony put back together. It took less than five minutes for me to get it. So, yeah, easy !  :thumb:
Cleaned and complete pony !

Hope that helps ! Maybe some people are new in collecting and/or are unfamiliar with those ponies and didn't want to restore them because they might fear to break the pony. But this is what you need to come out of your shell. =)

Have a great day !

Thank you so much for this! My Baby Snookums has tail rust and I've been putting off fixing it due to her tube, so now I can finally do something about it!

Is it hard to get the tube back into place? I haven't grabbed any of these guys yet, but I'm sure they've got all sorts of gunk hiding in the tube.
At least the tube isn't made of metal.

I'm not done with my pony entirely so I didn't put the tube back yet, but I'm almost certain it's not that hard to place it back with a little patience and dexterity. There are some kinds of "slots", made of vinyl on each side (one for the bum, one for the mouth) so the tube won't budge. I tried to take a pic but it was too far back in the body/head. I'll tell you how easy it is to place it back tomorrow. =)

Yay, thanks Whisper.  :P I'm always really glad to help people. I should really tackle G2 restoration soon. Even though that might be like G1s, well I'd be here to claim it IS like G1s so it will be no big deal to clean our G2s. ^^

Awesome job! I probably would've used a pipecleaner to clean out the tube though, that is what they're designed for after all - I definitely wouldn't have though of using string!  ;)
If you get to documenting G2 restoration that would be so awesome - I still have no idea how to clean out my rusted electronic G2s without damaging them  :(
I finally found my grail!

Crystal-Sushi : I don't have electronic G2s to help you. I only have one case of tail rust at the moment. =(
Safflower : Thank you ! :frolic:

Ohh nice picture guide, and clever idea to use yarn to clean it! I can imagine the tube in the DnW ponies is usually prettty gross, at least ponies in played-with condition :V Thanks for sharing!

Lovely work! And I really enjoy this set. It's one of the few sets I've actually completed. One of mine had a terrible haircut, so I recently got up the nerve and took her apart to re-hair her. I was a little anxious since I didn't know how they were put together. I actually never ended up getting her tube back in place. I wasn't quite sure how to go about doing it and I figured it wasn't a big deal since I'm not planning on "using" her or anything. But now that I've seen this, I may pop her head back off and reinsert her tubing correctly.
