Cleaning Tips for G4 Ponies?

I just recently got a bunch of second hand G4 ponies, (yay!) and they all badly need spa days.  I've never cleaned a G4 before so I'm wondering if anyone has any tips?  I know that basically it will be just like cleaning any other pony.  But the plastic is different and they are put together differently so I wondered if there are any different cleaning techniques I should know.  Mostly I am worried about getting water inside their tail holes, since I can't just pop their heads off like G1's.

They are pretty much the same. I tried to derust a Trixie once. She lost a lottt of her tail  so I'd just avoid getting them full of water, like you said.
Have fun with the pegasi wings, they tend to get in the way whenever I try to style.

I just clean them the same way, being mindful of keeping the root of the tail dry

It's pretty much the same as most other plastic toys. Other then they're made of hard plastic.

Clorox wipes and a pony brush are usually all you need unless the condition is incredibly bad the bodies don't hold dirt as much as g1s can
