Is there a checklist with names and pictures of all ponies released?

Like every pony of every generation? Pretty sure no such source exists. There's a few main sources that you can use to find information on ponies:

-My Little Wiki (all generations, pretty out of date in G4s of the past few years)
-Strawberry Reef (all generations, hasn't been updated since January 2015)
-MLP Merch (G4, regularly updated, they're also working on a database for previous gens IIRC)

Adding my website simply because of the UK angle (sig link). Wiki is the most thorough attempt at doing everything, but has a lot of issues still with non-US release ponies and categories. It's a constant work in progress.

Strawberry Reef may be great for G3, but I still haven't forgiven it for still claiming white Tootsie is a UK pony a good 16 years after that myth was fully debunked.

Websites that have errors and are never updated should be used with caution. Really, checking multiple sites is generally the best option

Just adding in my 2-cents from the peanut gallery, but I have to agree with this. The only problem that I have with her books is that they do not show pictures of the variations of symbols, but it's the best reference that I have found so far.

The internet databanks are pretty good when compiling wishlists with pics, but other than that, I stick with these books. They also have checkboxes next to the pictures to knock them off the list!

Are you referencing the retro re-releases? There is no checklist for them available as of right now and the full release plan has not been stated.
If you mean for all of the current ponies: I threw together a personal checklist in a google sheet using the mylittlewiki main G1 page, because I can easily check and update my checklist if I'm at a thrift store and am blanking out on the ponies I need. 
If you feel comfortable fashioning your own, you would probably be able to put in a picture for each pony, but it would take an afternoon or two...especially if you're listing variants..

In that case I would definitely recommend MLPMerch as probably the most complete site, even if not an actual checklist. The Wiki does have gaps although I admit I have been able to id a couple of G4 non-mane 6 I didn't know the names of there without problem.

Wait, where is white Tootsie from? My mom got one for me from Europe and I hope the shipping cost wasn't in vain.

Europe . Definitely netherlands and Italian ones from France and Spain...

But NOT the UK. Because not everything in European mainland came to the UK or vice versa
