Can my partner make a MLP Arena account with the same IP address?

Hi everyone! I got my spouse into ponies and customs, and tonight he said wanted to join the Arena! :)

But, I recall years ago that people who make multiple accounts (most likely from the same IP address) will get banned. We live together, so we'd share the same IP addresses and sometimes even the same computer/tablet device, but obviously we'd be separate users. How can he create an account without getting me flagged? :lol:
