The gift set is missing Sunlight.

The other ponies didn't want to associate with her when she was in her Green Blob phase.  That's what made Sunlight stop drinking and get back on the wagon.

As for the scented thing, we knew that back when the website first went up as it was said there, so I'm not sure why people are so surprised about it. I guess we'll just see how strong the scents are. I don't deal well with the scented ponies in general because most of them are overly nauseating but I won't turn my back on these because Windy was my first pony and I feel like she's coming home so whatever they smell like, I guess I'll either deal with it or find a way to make her smell...less.

I thought that was more like "new car smell" where the pony wasn't meant to smell like vanilla or anything, but the plastic just had a distinct scent.

My Swirly Whirly still has a pleasant sweet smell to her.

Yep, ponies just smell like vinyl, which I guess smells sweet. Not intentional. Though, some other sets do have added scents that were on purpose and were marketed as such.

Yes, I believe it's more like that though I've never had any memories of pony smell other than the ones that were intentionally scented.  If I remember correctly there were three sets where being scented was part of the gimmick.  The Sweetberry set, the Sundae best set and the Perfume puff set.  Correct me if I'm wrong.
