A pony collector friend I have on FB just did a video about them  and the poster inside suggests 'more' ponies to come. I forget the exact wording and need to go rewatch for it but it was something like collect all 6 and more.

I just wished for that a few pages ago. That was fast!
Unless they mean more anniversary merch like t-shirts and stuff. If they remake the vintage ponies I will do several backflips down the hall and into our local bank to set up a new savings account

I want a video of you doing those backflips Zapper. :p

I am happy to see vintage ponies in the stores, but as someone with the full set of collector ponies, these are a bit of a disappointment. I do not need a 4th set of collector ponies, and there are over 500 other ponies they could have chosen. Why not release the first year set with Glory, Firefly, Apple-freakin-jack!!!???? I think more parents have positive memories of their childhood Firefly than of Butterscotch. (Nothing against Butterscotch, just ranting!)
Plus more dynamic or interesting poses, color combinations, breeds...  If they are going to charge ten dollars for a plastic horse, I would like it if they tried a little harder.

I will only buy these if I see them on a very good clearance. Keep trying, Hasbro.

I totally agree.  I'm really stoked that they decided to celebrate the 25th anniversary.  (Have they decided to only celebrate anniversaries when the current gen is on the downhill slope?).

But I'm really dissapointed that they released the collectors ponies, again.  I already have the ones from the 25th anniversary and the originals, of course.  And yes, it would have made so much more sense to release the ponies seen in RAMC.  They would appeal to both collectors and bronies a lot more than this set.  Or, if they were determined to release ponies in that pose, then there are still plenty of ponies to choose from.  Birth flowers maybe?  Alternate birth flowers?

I just feel like those average grown ups in the toy isle are less likely to feel an affinity for these ponies specificly but just the aesthetics of gen 1 ponies.

I'm conflicted about buying these.  I really want to support the idea of retro ponies.  I really don't want to spend the money on *these* ponies.

How bout they just appeal to kids and collectors instead?

I am heading out on a hunt today. I am considering picking up any extras I may find. Would anyone like me to hunt for them? I am absolutely willing to ship internationally for Pony People.

It's very cool you would do that for people and I expect some folk will import them.

For me personally, I feel like if we have to import them, we're only going to be feeding into Hasbro's delusion that only America cares about old G1 ponies. And if we do import them, not only will we be paying about $30 per pony including postage and also then customs charges, if they did then come out here, fewer would sell. That would mean that other countries wouldn't get a restock or anything else in the future. It's a gamble either way, but the way Hasbro have disadvantaged non-US countries over the years is really frustrating. It makes me glad to know there are kind folk like Shatyr who would buy to ship abroad, but the fact is we shouldn't need someone to do that for us. It's not fun being treated as second class because of our location, not when there are Hasbro distribution bases in a lot of countries. Maybe instead we should be petitioning our Hasbros (if people want them) via their website or their mailing address - given that it's on the backcards of the G4 ponies - asking about these ponies. That's a better way because we want them to know there is a market here.

If they came out here I would buy them just to tell Hasbro that there is a market in the UK for G1 retro. But I won't be buying them from the US if Hasbro can't be bothered to sell them in my country.

Ohh cool! I'd love to get my hands on Minty!
I'd probably scream if they'd ever do a G2 retro pack :P

No ponies at my Targets yet, but there's a new shipment coming in on Saturday and the display at the SuperTarget is scheduled to be changed next week.

It's amazing what you can learn when you talk to employees at stores.

I'll get at least one. I'll probably carefully remove the poster and then seal it back up for display. :)

I had both of the three packs for the 25th anniversary and lost them in a move. So I'm exited to see these and Blue Belle. My first G1...hopefully I can hunt next week. Thanks for the Target tip.

Thank you for the pictures!  Their eyes are perfect.

I was watching a friend's video review and he said that these are actually produced by a company called The Bridge Direct, not Hasbro.  (But the toys are licensed from Hasbro, so they are not bootlegs.)  They are the same company that made the retro Strawberry Shortcake dolls.

So they probably didn't even know that Hasbro made collector ponies in 2007.  Regardless, the new retros are much better quality than the previous retros so I'm okay with this, lol.  I hope they make more.

Hopefully the “& more” doesn’t just mean you can collect these six and then the other toy lines this company puts out lol

So many uncertainties! —but that makes it exciting.

Thanks for all of the pictures!

Oh. I've picked up a couple SS dolls for some friends. They're darling!  I hope these people make more sets too. Hopefully it won't be a one and done deal.
