One thing to keep in mind is that G1 is a very inconsistent world.  The UK/NA split has already been mentioned but even within a given release area, there was a lot of variability in the stories, lore and personality of each pony between media types.  Add to that pretty much every kid made up their own version of Ponyland and the characters that were in it for themselves.  And that's fine.  'Canon' characters aren't some sacred thing that you can't mess around with lore-wise. 

That poor Medley is almost certainly a victim of acne cream.    What a shame someone ruined her like that.

A shame someone ruined her though? Honestly I'm in love with her markings I know it's a flaw and wouldn't purposely do it to a pony but it only makes me lobe her more she's a pinto now!

Well I'm glad she's found a home that loves her regardless then. Otherwise looks to be in great shape considering she's pushing 30+ years old.

Its a lovely happy ending for Medley! Might be a good idea to keep her stored separate from the other ponies, in case that is acne cream and it transfers. I have heard that can happen.

The acne cream soaks into the vinyl. Vinyl is porous, so a surface cleaning will not get rid of the chemicals still in the vinyl. The chemicals can transfer onto other ponies. If it is on other ponies, it can bleach them. Acne cream can't really be fixed with a simple cleaning It's pretty vicious, and it's sooooo strong.

Well, if the chemicals have transferred, the effects would take a while to show up. It could take years, months, sometimes days... You never know. Or they could just never show up.

Yeah, that's why most collectors won't accept ponies with acne cream damage or those that have been known to come into contact with the stuff - the effects can show up much later.  Stuff's nasty.  I'd suggest wiping down any ponies that have come into contact with Medley, and don't store them together from now on.

Aw heck, you can do whatever you want with your Medley because she's *yours*. Who cares if it goes against her "canon" personality? G1 canon is pretty scattered and inconsistent with each other anyway (i.e. there's various canons - the cartoon, the UK comics, books, backcards.. etc), no one's gonna get on your case if you make up your own personality for her I do the same thing.
