I love Christmas songs, but only from Dec 1-25th.  My favourites are:

Boney M - Mary's boy child
The Pogues - Christmas in NY
TRG - Snoopy's Christmas
Band Aid - Do they know it's Christmas

I love love LOVE :lovey: it, as long as its the right time of year. I know some people who are into the whole Christmas in July thing and even though I love the music I DON'T wanna hear it till Thanksgiving at the earliest.

I can totally relate to the whole 'retail workers trapped in holiday music prison' thing. That happens to my bf each year and he despises holiday music with a fiery passion. As for me (a big holiday music lover) some of my favorites include:

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
Jingle Bell Rock
Little Saint Nick
Santa Tell Me
Mary Did You Know?

I also love a lot of traditional Christmas songs. My favorite is O Holy Night, followed closely by It Came Upon A Midnight Clear and O Come All Ye Faithful.

I was expecting to develop a dislike of holiday music thanks to working retail but thankfully it wasn't strictly holiday music until the last 2 days I was working and they actually had a good variety and played a few gems here and there. I'm actually liking Sia's new Christmas songs and I'm beginning to think Songbird Seranade just can't do wrong musically.

Can’t stand Christmas.  And I can’t stand its music.  Too much phoniness and feigned happiness for my liking.

I don't mind Christmas music in general, but the one song I cannot stand is "The Little Drummer Boy".

Think about it: you're 9 months pregnant, just got through a long desert journey on the back of a donkey, you go into labor and of COURSE there's no rooms anywhere so you have to have this immensely important kid in a stable of all places -- one already occupied by several animals already and none of them are housebroken, you finally get things sorted and the kid to sleep and HERE COMES LITTLE JOHNNY WITH A DRUM!

You'd have to be a saint not to send that kid into orbit.

I'm of course okay with songs about flying reindeer with light-up noses, talking snowmen, and 3 old astrologers carrying myrrh all over the place, but for some reason THIS is where I draw the line.

Also, the stores around here have been playing "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time" by McCartney on endless loops.

The stores around here are like The Salt and Pepper Diner all over again: https://youtu.be/fzIFa-7WIN4

(EDIT: this contains a few swears at the end of the comedy routine)

In general, I love Christmas music and I want to start listening to it as soon as Thanksgiving is over. However, there are certain Christmas songs and certain versions of Christmas songs that drive me absolutely crazy, while there are some that I cannot get tired of.

There are some songs I don't mind hearing throughout the year, and I love the "traditional" tunes. I used to love playing Christmas music in November, but now I don't actively seek out Christmas music early. In the car, I opted for Christmas radio stations around Dec 20+ this year.

It's a big no from me. The music starts playing as soon as Halloween is over in a lot of  the shops, and they don't change it until new year usually around here. And it's the same songs over and over and over.... I used to work in  retail  sooooo ... yeah you can see where this is heading - I'll stop now ;) :yikes:
