Does anyone have got scans of the G1 magazine/comics?

This site is such a godsend. I periodically check for new scans, and I have everything saved in a directory on my PC.

There's occasionally also scans of old pamphlets, advertisements, some fanart... it's just a great page to follow if you love pony.

Posts like this make me think that there ought to be some kind of attempt to get the comics online. Or at least more than we currently have. LM certainly has done the most in this regard so far, but I don't know how complete her online archive of them is. It just seems a shame not to be able to share them properly.

My archive is very spotty!  I sort of post whatever I'm in the mood for, on a whim. 

One of my goals for 2018 is to organize what I DO have uploaded so people can look them up by issue number and such.  Also for my own sake so I can keep track of what I've already uploaded, ha ha.

I love reading the comics. I wish we had them in the US during G1 too. I love the story of how Applejack freed the Twinkle Eye ponies from the Jewel wizard and several other stories as well.

Today I came across a Youtube channel where someone has been doing narrations of the G1 comics!  I am pretty sure it's a longtime ponyperson but I'm blanking on her screenname.  (If you read this, narrator, sorry about that.  I am bad with names, ha ha.)

She has 75(!!) videos up so far.  And they are in order from the comics.  She's up to issue #11.

I only watched a little bit but it amused me that it's done in the style of a G1 UK story cassette tape, with the UK 'my little pony' theme thing at the start. I am so brainwashed to the song tape, it makes me automatically expect to hear, "My little ponies live at the edge of the rainbow forest. Theirs is a magical world, where everyday brings a new adventure..." but all of the spoken word/listen and read type cassettes would have that at the start and then the title of the story, just like those videos. It's weirdly nostalgic

Kudos to her, especially if she manages to get the whole lot done. While part of me thinks that the comics are there to be read and not listened to, I like the way she's trying to make it like Hasbro did the pony tapes for the UK, and that it's a way for people who can't get the comics to access the material.

Her Lickety-Split voice really does near-identical to the UK song tape. The pitch and vocal inflections (I kept expecting her to say "Mmm... reminds me of raspberry ripple!") are spot-on.

In general, the readings feel surprisingly authentic to the soft-spoken but distinctly 'magical' and bright-eyed narration of the UK audio material. I was expecting the first story to open with the full song tape theme (although its extreme catchiness makes me debate that), but it was a pleasant surprise. I wonder if she'll eventually reach the Tales issues.
