re creating mane holes

heres the thing. I have several ponies that due to lots of mane holes or my younger selves inexperience, have either totally or partially lost their mane holes and can't be re rooted in the usual way.

For some onies I use epoxy resin but sometimes there is nothing for the resin to bond with. Take daddy cascade for example. I re did his mane holes by stuffing the gaps with epoxy sculpt and drilling new holes but now I want to do something better. But I don't want to destroy the chance of him having a lovely mane.

Any tips?

You could try making a weft and glueing it in place?

Hmm... This is tough! I would try making a wig. Dollightful on YouTube has a nice wig tutorial. You could also just make the cap and try rooting into it, then securing the cap on the head with glue and securing the hair into the cap with glue. I have also seen MH doll customizes glue a piece of fabric over a big hole in the head and root into that, then secure with glue. Hope this helps

It's a very large gap. There's nothing left to drill in new holes.

Hmm, I'd go with the fabric idea. Something medium weight maybe? Strong enough to hold the hair and stay together but not so thick it breaks your needle (I don't know a lot about fabrics).
