Which one would you keep?

I have a dilemma that I think most collectors have from time to time. I've run out of room and I'm trying to decide which ponies to display. Would you display the childhood pony that's in pretty bad shape, but it was also given to you by someone who was very close, but has passed away. Or would you keep the one that you just got and has no sentimental attatchment, but is in much better shape? If appreciate any opinions.

I second keeping sentimental value ponies. You can always get a replacement for a good-shape pony, but like Zelda said you can't replace sentimental value

Sentimental, definitely! When you get more space you can buy another in good condition, but you couldn't replace the sentimental one!

Speaking from experience, you WILL want the one with sentimental value, even if you're kind of meh about it right now.  Keep that one.

Are you asking which one to display, or which one to keep?  There's a big difference! 

For me, all my sentimental ponies are the highest ranking ponies in my collection - hands down.  They don't all end up on display though.  I do have some sentimental ponies that have been "upgraded" to a mint version, but when that happens I keep both.  The original is taken care of, and the new one is valued as a mint example of one of my sentimental ponies.  Depending on what's wrong with the sentimental pony(I quarantine ponies with age spots and mold), and what I feel like displaying, I sometimes display the sentimental ones and sometimes I put them in a special bin only for my most important "sick" ponies.  I wrap them in archival tissue paper and store them very carefully. 

My collection's so large, and my house is so small that I can't display everything.  I still *always* take care of my sentimental ponies, even if I can't display them.

Sentimental value all the way! I normally buy another one of the same pony when the first one (the one holding sentimental value) is in bad shape but if I had space problems, Id keep the sentimental childhood pony!

If it were me. And then I would get another, better condition pony and keep both. Again, that is me.

I would both keep and display the sentimental value pony. It's nice to look at your pony display and see a pony that reminds you of someone/something special.

Definitely sentimental. I have a few g1s like that. I have a g1 Locket in atrocious condition but I keep her because she was a present when I was little.
