Oh, thank you, that's so sweet, I wasn't expecting such enjoyment for their bath. It's not really much.
So, yeah, I will keep her eyes as they are, their mane too. They'll have to wait a very long time before I could rehair them.
Well, case closed I guess. I will post them in the restoration gallery. It's not much but we love pony pics so much. ^^

I love Whizzer's hairstyle actually  :)

I have changed TE eyes, using the Aikarin tutorial. My fingers will never be the same again. It was very very difficult to do as the inside of the pony's head is a small place to work in. There is a groove that the eye must be fitted in to and I was lucky enough to find jewels that did fit. This amazed me as we normally seem to be at the bottom of the pile when it comes to pony restoration supplies.

However in your case I would not advise it at all. Your pony's plastic has hardened and you will not be able to get the eyes back in. The plastic needs a certain amount of 'give' in it for the operation to be a success. I think that you did a great job with them!

Hi, glad you like it. ^^ Well, if everyone thinks her eyes are good enough, there's no reason to change them. Especially if they're so difficult to remove. At least she kept some iridescence.
Have a nice day, thanks for all your advice, they are helpful. ^^

If you want to touch her eyes up slightly I do have a suggestion. I've restored some glass eyes by very gently polishing them (using a nail buffer with a little water) and then coating them in nail polish. I've never done TE eyes, but this method with some iridescent nail polish would probably improve her appearance.

Buffing the front flat facet smooth again isn't out of the realm of possibility - you'd need some very, very fine sandpaper though, the kind for polishing polycarbonate or automotive clear coat.  It'd also have to be done very carefully so as to not take out the remaining iridescence.  I'd suggest painter's tape to mask over the area that isn't to be fixed, and while it seems feasible I've never tried this myself or heard of anyone who has, so proceed at your own risk!

Whizzer's hair is adorable! Not a bad start to a collection.

I really would not use nail polish anywhere on a pony - it reacts with the vinyl in the bodies, and would probably react with the hard plastic on the eyes, too. If you want to coat the eyes your best bet is something like Triple Thick.
Buffing is another good option, though. You can find wet/dry sandpaper at hardware stores in high grits (1000 and 2000). Craft/hobby stores might have even higher, but it's usually more expensive. I doubt you'd need anything like 8000 grit, anyways. :P

I guess one other thing you could try is interference paint: http://www.goldenpaints.com/products/colors/interference-iridescent-colors. If it doesn't look good then at least you can remove it with alcohol without affecting the original coating.  :)
