Have you ever imagined the wrong pony gen when shopping?

Has anyone else ever gone shopping, thinking “okay I’m going to go look at the mlp section” and imagined G1 or G3 ponies only to get there and realise, wait it’s G4.
I don’t do it with G1 because I was a little too young for them to still be instores. I got my first mlp from hand me downs not new. However I was a kid at the peak of G3 so I always envision G3 ponies when I think about going to shop for ponies. And I always catch myself too late and get to the shop and think “dang!”. I miss G3s more than I want to admit obviously!
Anyone else? I mention it because I completely did it again! I apologise for any horrendous mistakes as I’m typing on my phone.

Haha, I totally do this... When I got into collecting, G3 was doing the Crystal Princess line, with the gem-shaped boxes. Sometimes I find myself still thinking those will be out (: I miss g3 a lot xD Tho I have to say I'm living for the mermaids atm. Mermaids are totally my gig. (tho, I have still to get even one of the new ones xD )

Sometimes I find myself still thinking those will be out (: I miss g3 a lot xD Tho I have to say I'm living for the mermaids atm. Mermaids are totally my gig. (tho, I have still to get even one of the new ones xD )

Compared to seeing G1s or G3s in store I’m super underwhelmed by G4 but I have seen some g4 customs that are lovely!

Running Press made a mini Firefly and Glory with art books and brushes. I still see them at Barnes n Noble.

The Loyal Subjects released articulated mlps in blind boxes , featuring Firefly, Lickety-split, Sundance, Snuzzle, Glory, Applejack, Minty, Gusty and Princess Sparkle.

It would be interesting if they released a generation transition pony that came as a set of 4, showcasing their design on every gen. But thats obviously also a big dream.

Only when I go thrift store hunting and there are a million different molds on the shelf.  I go nuts trying to explain them all to my DH.  Of course for the last few years, the fakies have all been the same....    now I get excited when there are different fakies, LOL

Wow see I havent found mlp in op shops for over a year and its starting to worry me. I always check even when I wasnt actively collecting, because doy I was in mlp denial!
