Nightmare Rarity

I created this lovely gal for the 2017 Halloween Swap. When I saw Okami_Amaterasu's favorite Halloween things, it was such a hard choice, but I so love the way Nightmare Rarity looks, I thought I had to give it a try. She was very fun to make, and I hope she is fun for you to see.

Edit: forgot to add details on some of the supplies if others are interested. She is made from a G4 reboot Celestia; Sculpey was used to fill the area from the removed wings. Hair is dyed (by the seller/farmer) mohair and Blizzard DollyHair, rooted. Hair does have some hexagon pieces of glitter added. Paint is in acrylics, variety of standard brands.

Hasbro should take notes, she would make an amazing ComicCon exclusive... but of course their attempts would pale in comparison to your inspired creation.

Did you make her using a g4.5 pony?

Yes! She is a G4.5 Celestia with wings and hoof armor/shoes removed. The horn and pose were perfect!

Amazing!! How was working with the new reboot figure, also? Does the different material call for different techniques?

The reboot figure was pretty much just like working with the other G4s, but the neck hole is smaller. Rather than leave the inner ring on inside the head, I think it would be easier completely removed for the sake of gluing the hair and reattaching the head. I tried to keep it on, but in the future, I'm just going to remove the ring, as it easy to remove and reglue.

I love that you used Mohair to bring that volume to her hair. She looks amazing! Nightmare Rarity is such a beautiful character -- I wish they would use her more (especially in the animated show).

The Nightmare Rarity arc was in issues 5-8 of the comics! You could try to dig them up online, in comic shops, or buy them at https://www.comixology.com/ for $1.99 USD an issue!
Forgot to note that they're internet/ebook versions, not physicals!
