I need to clean all my new ponies and set up a nice display still. Bleh, I wish I had a larger room!

Displays like Aadra's and Himmie's make me depressed because they are so beautifully displayed and I just don't have the space to display mine like that

I totally understand this. The images I posted hardly show a quarter of my stuff and the waiting game to be able to freely display my ENTIRE collection is just unbearable. I try to be understanding but then my selfishness takes over and then I just say to myself, WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG. I want it yesterday! lol

My problem is that I simply just have too many ponies and I don't seem to be able to stop adding more when they come in xD.

Aadra, your display is amazing, don't feel bad for that! I just wish I had that kind of room as my ponies would be so much happier. I have no idea how I get so many ponies in one cupboard but I don't think they're overly happy about it, especially since some of them now stand on the backs of others.

I think that between my sister and I and across all generations we are trying to house about 1500 ponies. Naynie's ponies (350ish?) plus all G3 and G2 (around 150 total?) are in storage with the playsets. The rest...are mostly trying to fit in one cupboard about a metre and a half wide that runs floor to ceiling, a small cabinet where the wingers and flutters live, and basically wherever else I can find a place for them (around the sink, under the sink, on the top shelf of the wardrobe...above the sink, on the bookcase, on the DVD case...and even on the wall).

So yeah. It's not messy, but it's not pretty. And I feel bad for them living like that. One day, when I have the money for a spare room, they will get that. Goodness knows they've waited long enough...

Like Aadra, a lot of my collection came in the glorious time of second hand sales and the trades that resulted from second hand sales. It would be really difficult to be able to amass a big collection now without a lot of money, which I definitely don't have. I think people who are starting out now are amazing and I wish them all the luck in the world. We were really spoiled and I hope that great deals happen for the newer collectors as well so that they can find the things they really want to make their collection complete.

Collection isn't really about size but about having the things that matter. My problem is that all my G1 ponies matter to me, and I also have a large collection (200ish? 250) of pony boxes and packages/cards which also takes up space And of course one day I would like to be able to display sets and ponies with their cards too...so really I think I'm probably hoping for a museum size hall (unrealistic dreaming ftw).

I see all these lovely collections and it makes me kind of motivated to get going on mine.  Besides being a procrastinator and lazy, I also like to create displays for some of my ponies.  This is like the only time my type A personality takes over.  Otherwise, I am a good old easy going type B.  Anyway, I will have to post pictures when I am closer to where I want to be.  Hopefully sometime just after the first of the year.

We wouldn't be able to see them even if you had been able to get them up - we can't see your sig pic either. Photobucket has self-sabotaged itself into worthlessness and no longer works as a hosting site. The current news bulletin on the forum index here actually instructs members to migrate hosts. I would recommend DeviantArt, it's what I use for the purpose.

Awesome.  Thanks. There's an IKEA where I'm moving in a few years and won't be allowed to drill all kinds of holes for shelving so these will be perfect when I have to redor my pony room.
