Show me your restored ponies!
« on: November 07, 2017, 11:35:34 AM »
Hello ponies!!

I know there was an old thread about this, but I decided it was time to start a new one!
So, show me your restored ponies, of any generation

I'll have to dig up some of my old photos, too

I can't wait to see what everyone posts!

I forgot that photobucket ate most of my photos  -_- So I had to dig through my computer files to find these two photos of Napper.

Here she was before, filled with rust and other grossness:

She looks as good as new!

I have a few projects going;
Blossom - New tail and mane
Baby diamond - Remove the rust in her tail
the rest of my mlp gang - Wash em

Kikwifluff, Napper's before and after photos really show how well she cleaned up - you must be so proud of the transformation!

My are photos are lost somewhere too... *sigh* too many archived files on my external HDD, one day I will get a chance to sort through them...

Strawberrysweets, I have a few that need a spa too - saving them up for a spare day when I don't have so many chores to do! I *must* remember to take pictures, I get so involved with them that I forget to record my progress!  >_<

Oh man I am ALL about restorations, re-hairing, transformations, and overall giving life to ponies which might otherwise be passed over as 'just too bait-y'.  Here's some various successes!  (Hope you all don't mind a long post!)

Cleaned up pindot on Posey:

A fix for a BADLY removed head on Merriweather (all that gunky glue was removed, and her head re-affixed with much better adhesive):

Goldilocks alt rehair (her hair was completely falling apart in chunks, it looked like someone had taken a crimping iron to her in the 90s):

I should have some more soon too, depending on how things go with a recent batch of acquisitions.

Featherwurm, yours is a masterclass on restoration transformations! Your selection of photos are a great summary of what can be achieved in bringing TLC to tired ponies! :worshippy: :accomplished:

Merriwether -  all that gunk, yuck - she now looks like new!

Goldilocks - as TheBeatlesPkmnFan42 says, looks STUNNING with the purple highlight, it really pulls-in all her colourings!

AWESOME pindot removal - PLEASE let us know your secret to such a clean result - do you use a special soap or is it really just lots of patience and rub, rub, rub?

Well, these are my two first "big" restorations.

- Applejack : Found her tail inside her body, had to remove the rust and repaint her eye.

- Sunbeam : Had to remove the rust off her tail and her body, tried to remove somme yellowing, unfrizz her hair and painted her cuttie mark. (Using nail polish, it was the closest match to her previous golden and glittery cuttie mark)

And then, there are my custom flutter wings, using nail polish, being creative and trying to match their color and cuttie mark in a way.

- Forget-me-not

- Lily

I love to restore and custom my ponies, I want to get more of them. Gotta clean them all ! =D

Thanks glitterball, that's really nice of you. =) My next project is to make wings for Morning Glory. She still needs some more work, her hair is a mess and she's all dirty. ^^

Strawberrysweets : Lots of patience, soap and scrubbing according to the Pony Preservation Project. http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/body.html#Smooze

I've got photos spread all over the place thanks to Photobucket
But I think this is the majority, still missing some.

Watching your restorations is oddly satisfying. I need more.  :P You're doing such a great job to bring back their beauty and cuteness. :hope:
Strawberrysweets : Haha, it's funny you say that now, I just came back to a very long cleaning session for Morning Glory, my first flutter pony. She needs some more work, but she never got a bath before.
