I love it! I agree that when I looked at mine, I felt something was missing. Seeing her with the forelock next to Bubbles and Seashell, she looks like she fits right in now!

And to anyone thinking of trying it, just cut gradually back and always leave way more hair than you think you need.  I thought I was cutting it soooo extra long, but it turned out to be exact 'forelock length' on the first try.

Awww she looks so sweet with a forelock!
It's funny, in the before photo she looked like she was missing something but I couldn't quite put my finger on it... Of course it was the forelock, it really does complete the look and ponies just look a tad wrong without one.
