PC on complete UK MLP Tales collection
« on: November 02, 2017, 06:15:00 PM »
I was looking into the actual value of my Tales collection lately. I put them up on ebay already, but at a sorta random price until I can update it. They're all in very good condition. Two out of the seven have been rehaired, but that's the extent of any restoration work done on them. I was able to acquire them through a buying agent in the UK that could use the ebay.uk site for me. I paid anywhere from $50-$90 for each pony. How much do you suppose the whole collection would be worth?

All of the money in my wallet...? I'm not good with prices at all, but I'd check what they've gone for in the past and factor condition in.
They look so nice altogether, good luck with the sale!

Forgot names, but the two pink body ones go for around $25-$30.  Patches, Clover, Letter  and Heart pony $40-$45.  Bon-Bon $40-$50.  It all really comes down to who is looking at the time

Ohhh, they're gorgeous!

I'm not sure of the price, but if you want to get 'maximum value' you might want to cancel the current auction (if it doesn't have any bidders yet) and list them separately.  Being in a lot always pushes the value down a bit.  Also, selling them individually you would attract buyers who already have six of them and are trying to complete the set by getting the 7th.

But I can understand if you want to keep these girls together, plus there is something to be said for only having to take one package to the post office instead of seven. :)

Yeah, they're really special to me so I wanted to keep them together if at all possible. We'll see if anyone is interested, if not I might consider breaking them up.

That's very clear, given your asking price :)

But.... if you want any international buyers at all, you really need to take the GSP option OFF your listing!  :(

Ha! I know. I mainly just wanted to get the photos and the description up first and then figure out a price later. Everyone's feedback has been pretty helpful so far.

I didn't know what GSP was until you mentioned it! I took it off. (I think?) Thanks!

I am surprised nobody mentioned rerooting and value.

I am sure you already were clear about the rerooting of the two but I think that impacts on their price. Some people do and some people don't like reroots. I think from your photos the two are Clover and Bon Bon? Clover is a harder to find pony and I would say a reroot hits her value somewhat. For me the rerooting would be a deal breaker if selling them as a set because two of them aren't original, and so would probably one day need upgrading (and more money outlaid) but some people don't mind and would welcome a slightly dropped price on the value due to restoration. Either way rerooting does impact on value quite a lot. I think you're safe just so long as you have made very obvious that they've been rooted and which ones have and what with if you know. Just so the buyer has no surprises!

Also, anyone can use the uk ebay site O.o. Although some sellers are UK only, just like on the US one...maybe that's what you meant?
