Need Help Finding Images

Its been a fairly long time, but years ago I remember coming across images of ponies that appeared to be life size that lit up. If I remember correctly they were set up in the U.K. at one point for years before they were taken down. The light up ponies were all from the G1 generation of ponies. One of the light up ponies was set up like a rocking horse and others were standing I believe. If anyone can get what I'm describing I was looking for images of them. I've tried multiple searches on google and I cannot seem to find any.

Perhaps it was Blackpool Illuminations? I do remember seeing someone talk about them a few years ago, (think someone also said they brought one)

If you Google Blackpool Illuminations my little pony (add UK if you're not in the UK) you should see some pictures of them.

Would be great fun to have if I had the space and money

Yeah this search will be tricky, what with Photobucket disallowing 99% of its usage  

But yeah you are talking about the Blackpool Illuminations like Lollipop said.

I was always impressed that they kept them in the display so long (they were still actively illuminating them in the late nineties when they first got mentioned in the pony community) and also that they sold them, and didn't junk them. Hopefully they're all still around somewhere in someone's collection. If I had had the money, space etc I would have liked Masquerade. I had her as a child, and it would've been fun. Although I also had Princess Sapphire and Smokey. I wish I had actually seen them in person, but I like that they are still remembered as a unique bit of pony weird. I think from the ponies involved we can assume these date from about 1986-7, so it's pretty neat that people still talk about them now

Going slightly off-topic here I guess, but Photobucket pics that have been replaced with that ugly "give us money" image can still be viewed - here's how. It does take much longer than just looking at the original image in the original thread, though Stupid, stupid Photobucket!!

I believe that garden centre closed in 2013.

Amusing note, if you read the sign by the princess pony they have incorrectly described the original Blackpool tableau as being made based on "designs from Mattel."

But it also tells us the artists who originally made the figures, which is pretty neat!  (Designers Graham Ogden and Alan Cockcroft, artists Shoichi Yasuda and James Cutler.)
