I asked a question regarding shipment of a teddy and they blocked me but not before sending a rather abrupt and impolite email.

very. If they had done what I had suggested I would have paid full price and not put in an offer. Annoyingly its the only build a bear guinea pig on ebay and I have been after one for some time.

I think if it had anything to do with their use of the GSP their response doesn't surprise me. In my experience sellers who use the GSP don't want to hear people asking them to post other ways. It's the easiest way to protect themselves, anything less than priority shipping is apparently unsafe for sellers these days, so they may see people requesting otherwise as potential troublemakers. It sucks but if a seller's policy is to ship using the GSP it's better to pay the extra than risk being blocked for asking an innocent question. *shrug*
