The Orville
« on: October 01, 2017, 08:34:58 AM »
I'm really excited about this show.  Was worried at first that it wouldn't be good, and it is getting off to a slow start.  Not as much comedy as I was led to believe, but I think that is turning into a good thing.  I thing this could be a good stand in for a Star Trek show, especially since I'm not going to pay to watch Discovery on a special channel.  I would drop Isaac though, or redo his costume to make him look more mechanical and less 1950's cheap robot.  I'm really hoping this show improves with a little time and becomes a hit and a home for homesick Trekkies like me.

I also love the Orville! Each episode seems to be getting better and I can't wait to see what the future holds with this show! I agree about Isaac, he looks like a 50's cheap robot lmao. However, I did sign up for CBS all access because I'm a big trekkie and just can't live without seeing it. So far, I think DSC is great, even if it's different in some areas.

I'm liking the Oreville so far.  The fourth episode is actually a callback to a TOS episode.  I've accept it is less a comedy and more of a drama with some comedy peppered in for flavor.

Issac's design does look a bit cheap.  Though, I wonder if that's on purpose.

My boyfriend and I are watching both Discovery and The Orville, and have really been enjoying both so far! I hope it continues to be good.

I love the Orville.  At first I thought it was going to be some sort of slapstick parody, but this is much better.

Hubby and I keep saying The Orville is what you would get if you sent humans nowadays into space. Like watching a show on the viewscreen, LOL!

When you're just cruising from Point A to Point B with no kind of urgency, you might as well throw something on to pass the time.
