Stores to buy ponies?
« on: September 29, 2017, 02:04:15 PM »
What stores are good to buy MLP toys these days? I live in the south side Chicago area of Illinois, so if anyone lives around here, that would make it easier since I know some states don't have certain stores.

I've been going to Toys R Us, Walgreens, Build a Bear, Barnes and Noble, Target, and Walmart. If there are any of these stores at a specific location or any other stores that have good stuff, please let me know! I've also been buying some toys from eBay, so any online stores are appreciated too!

Still open to suggestions! I've been buying most stuff online since most stores don't have stuff I'm on the lookout for.

Well, I don't know much about the area, but I'd advise that in addition to all those, why not check some antique malls for the older ponies?  I don't live in, nor have I ever seen Chicago, so my guess is pretty much a shot in the dark. Happy hunting!

I'm near that area! Sadly though, the stores that you already listed are really the only ones that I've ever found anything either. Party City tends to get some of the blind bags/ blind boxes and plushes, but they are usually the older stock. Online retailers are really only the best bet for newer releases. I've basically given up doing toy hunts to stores, and just check the toy aisles when I happen to be in the store instead of making a special trip. Also try local thrift stores for older generations! I've had some good luck in the past at Unique/Savers locations. Good Luck on your hunts!!

If you have a Meijer anywhere nearby, try that!  I visit my parents in Michigan and always stop by a Meijer. They almost always have the best selection of pony items, and they sometimes get in things that no other store gets.

There is a Meijer near me, so I’ll definitely try there. :)

I dunno if you have them near you but Family Dollar and Dollar General often have ponies. Tbh they are the only place I've found the last wave of pearly ponies.
