Stopping By To Say Hello!

Hello everyone! My name is Megan, but you are more than welcome to call me by my username, TradeWinds. I have always been a fan of My Little Pony and I decided that now was the perfect time to step out of the background to meet other pony enthusiasts!

While I am not a huge collector, I love drawing ponies. They are just so charismatic and fun to draw that I owe a lot of my drawing practice and improvement to fawning over canon characters or creating characters of my own. I love G1 ponies because of their creative designs, but G2 ponies will always have a special place in my heart because these were the toys that I grew up playing with. I am a fan of the continuing MLP:FIM and do have a little Fluttershy that was gifted to me by a friend. (She sits smiling on my desk this very moment!) If anyone has any good tips on how to get into collecting, I would love to hear them!

As for now, I am excited to meet new people. Feel free to stop on by and say hello!

The drawing in your avatar is very pretty   This is a great forum for pony art so feel free to share some of your work with us

As for starting off collecting, you can sometimes pick up large lots on ebay for not too much.  My favourite places are thrift stores, yard sales and school fairs though.  You never know what you might pick up - and they are usually very reasonably priced too

How cool!  I did the same thing, drawing ponies and slowly improving on it over time.  Its satisfying to see the difference when you compare pieces a few years apart ^^

As for tips on how to start collecting, eBay lots are a good place to start. Thrift stores and antique malls can also be great places for finding older generations. With newer ponies, places like Toys R Us, Target, Walmart, etc are good stores to find ponies at, these three I listed also have their own exclusive ponies and sets.

Beyond places to buy ponies, you're also gonna need to find a good spot to display your ponies!
