My favourite is : G1

G1 is my favorite, while G3 is a very close second! I love them all though.

Guess I may as well elaborate on why. I love G1 for the huge variety of ponies and poses it has, as well as all the interesting and fun gimmicks of a lot of the sets. G3 is a very close second because just like G1, there's a big variety in ponies and poses. The reason why G1 beats them for me is because G3 doesn't have as many unicorns and pegasi (unicorns especially) compared to G1, and while there are some G3 gimmicks, there aren't quite as many really interesting ones compared to G1.

G3. While it was lacking in some aspects, and ultimately one big cash grab, I grew up with this gen. I have a soft spot for it. I love it because of all the memories I have associated with it. It wasn't the greatest gem (that would be 1 or 4, still deciding) but it will always be a favourite.

G1 is my favourite because those were the first ponies I had as a kid. I have a soft spot for G2 as well though, maybe because it seems to be somewhat of an underdog; it took a while for the design of the ponies to sit right with me but I've come to really like them.

G3.  The ponies are beautiful, the cartoons are works of art, with lovely music, and likeable characters in my opinion.

G4 is second, but only some of it.

G1 one for sure.  Not just because I grew up with the cartoon on Disney, but seeing the toys themselves they are beautiful ponies.  All those poses, the color schemes, the varieties, and yes the characters in the cartoon.

Do you know what would be an interesting poll when this one has run its course? What people's second favourite generation is. The Arena is really dominantly G1 because its been around as long as it has and a lot of us gravitated here - but the generations people like second best is probably really diverse.

I voted G1 on this poll, but I guess that's not a surprise to anyone...
I would have to really think, though, about what my second favourite generation would be.
