FIM S7E19 It Isn't The Mane Thing About You

Along with the FiM forum's departure, I've also decided to forgo the typical "What I liked", "What I disliked", "Miscellaneous", etc. approach to each new episode. I want to be more active in the discussion.

Anyway, this was an entertaining episode with a weak plot.

Rarity's devastated reaction to her mane loss was fun to watch (Tabitha is such a gem [pun not intended]).

But seriously, having two identical and non-labeled vials filled with the same colored liquid? Zecora, you dolt! 

Speaking of which, in response Majesty and Safflower, I don't think her voice has changed at all. Maybe it's because she has been absent from the show for so long? Maybe her silly rhymes are finally getting to us?

As for the mustache magic from Boast Busters, one could make the argument that it was simply stripped from someone else, just like that crystal pony's mane did before it shattered. Which brings me to another problem I have. Why not just use a wig or something? We know they exist in Equestria.

One last issue I have is the ending and how it put a damper on the moral. The moral, I think, is that you shouldn't let your outer appearance hinder your confidence and inner beauty, which is a fine moral. But because Rarity refashions her ruined mane into something appealing, the lesson doesn't really work now and should be about making lemonade if life gives you lemons.

Glad to see that Big Mac's relationship with Sugar Belle hasn't been forgotten (yet); same goes for Grand Pear.

Lastly, how has Rarity not gained any weight from all that ice cream, or at least suffered extreme indigestion?

Anyone remember that Power Puff Girls (original) episod where Blossom's hair got cut by Bubbles and Buttercup?

This my little pony episode is on par with the mentioned above PPG episode, that made me laugh.

It was like seeing Blossom with that funny hair cut all over again.

Honestly they've got wigs in Equestria why couldn't Rarity of brought one?

But I liked punk Rarity.

I've considered ponies to be about as closely related to horses as we are to the other great apes.  There are differences, and being able to puke must be one of them.  An advantage for sure.

Pinkie pie HAS gained weight though. As I recall, she ate the whole cake in MMMMystery on the Friendship Express after the three were combined into it and she was noticeably bigger.

8/10 episode. I'm sure that scream was heard as far away as the Crystal Empire (they should've had the windows shatter from it ). I predicted Rarity would cope with it using several gallons of ice cream, and i was right .

 Her new look, was, AWESOME!

After her guitar solo, and now this, I've come to the conclusion that:

Rarity is... a punk rocker

Another inconsistency hit me.  Zecora has a potion that will instantly regrow a chipped tooth.  So, teeth can be instantly repaired but not manes.  Yeah, they just wanted punk Rarity.

It may be that Zecora can only fix small ones. She had no info on the Parasprite infestation after all.  I'm sure if Apple Bloom had completely lost a tooth, there'd be no fix and the same if Rarity had only partially lost her mane. Of course, given that Zecora can produce vials of identical substances without applying any way to tell which one is which, she may also be incompetent.
