Hot Topic Hot Cash Question

Hi,

Starting in late August I bought several Loyal Subjects ponies from Hot Topic. Most of the time I bought 2 and thought I was building up Hot Cash to use later although I would have bought the ponies anyway without the Hot Cash incentive. Today I got an email from Hot Topic saying it was time to spend Hot Cash but although my purchases were over $30 each time  I didn't earn any Hot Cash and there's none showing online. Can someone explain to me how Hot Cash works?

Did the cashiers give you any coupons?  You need the codes on those coupons.
There are also only specific periods where you can earn rewards and redeem them, it's not a 24/7 thing.

Thanks lovesbabysquirmy. I didn't get any coupons, just my receipt in the bag. I didn't realize there were specific times to earn Hot Cash. I guess I didn't buy the Loyal Subjects ponies during the earning period.

I finally got some Hot Cash from an online order but by the time it arrived the coupons were expired.
